Am looking for info on my grandfather jacob Ludwig Gross born in Alsace Lorraine, when it was German territory. He had 4 brothers, Philip, who was in the French foreign legion, Max, Augustus and Andrew. His sisters were Evangeline, who was a Catholic nun in Germany, Elizabeth and Francis who moved to Switzerland. He has a grandson in Germany named Ernie. He married Rose Kaercher from Michigan. He supposedly jumped ship in Canada, was in German navy, and came to US illegally. Used his brothers passport, I don't know which brother.
