I am researching my husband's father's side of the Groth family. I am looking for information on Henry Groth. He was born on August 11, 1863 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin per the 1900 federal Census. This same census seems to indicate that his first child listed on the census was not really his.The first child's name was William, born in Germany May 9, 1884. Henry married about 1888 to Albertina (Hilgendorf) Groth. She is listed on the 1900 Census as being born in Germany and suggests she is William's natural mother. She was born on December 30, 1865 in mecklingburg, germany. Henry and Albertina have 5 more children. Following William are Anna born 3-19-1889, Elsa born 9-15-1890, Alfred born 6-1-1893, Clara born 12-22-1894, and Harry born 10-9-1899 all in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Harry Charles Groth marries Leona Johanna Auguste (Pergande) Groth on October 6,1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born on 2-3-1906. Her parents were William Pergande and Ottilie(Hilgendorf)Groth. They had two children named Harvey Walter Groth born 7-9-1929 and Marilyn (Groth )Grau born 12-24-1934 both in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Harvey is my husband's father. We need more information about Henry Groth and his wife, Albertina (Hilgendorf) Groth. My trail has come to a stop at this point.
