COUSINS OF HARRY GUARDINO HELP!!!!

I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE CONNECTION IN MY FAMILY TO HAROLD VINCENT GUARDINO, THE ACTOR.

MY GRANDFATHER SANTO MAROTTA (1911-2001, LINE: GAETANO, SANTO, GAETANO) KNEW HE WAS RELATED TO HARRY. I HAVE NOT, HOWEVER, BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE DIRECT CONNECTION. HOWEVER, HERE IS WHAT I DO KNOW:
HARRY'S GRANDFATHER LUIGI (LOUIS) EMIGRATED IN 1893. HIS TRAVELING PARTNERS WERE HIS TWO COUSINS AND MY GREAT UNCLES LEONARDO AND ANTONINO MAROTTA. THEIR PARENTS WERE SANTO MAROTTA AND LIBORIA FRISCIA.
JOSEPH GUARDINO (B.1886 SCIACCA) WAS MARRIED TO MARIA FRISCIA (1886-1942). MARIA WAS RELATED TO LIBORIA AND LUIGI TO JOSEPH!

OTHER NAMES ASSOCIATED WITH THE MAROTTAS: SCLAFANI, DASARA, CUSUMANO, MANDRACCHIA, FRISCIA.

CAN ANYBODY HELP???

Was just researching the Guardino name and I hit on this.
I to am from the family. My father was Leo, Leonard Guardino,son of Stephen and Catherine of the Sunbeam IceCream Guardino's.

I don't have a lot of information on this side. All I know is my Great Grandparents were Vincenzo Guardino and Josephine Sancimino. They had 3 children; Salvatore, Angelina, and Antonio. There might have been more but that's all I know about so far. Angelina was my grandmother and she married Luigi Licata. Does anything here sound familiar?

I'm sorry I haven't responded. My name is Rosalind Licata. I don't have an Aunt Lilly or know who Kahla is. I also don't know who Charles Guardino is. My Grandmother was Angelina Guardino who married Luigi Licata. I remember an Uncle Tony Guardino. I don't know much about that side of the family, which is why I'm trying to research. I know that Angelina's parents were Vincenzo and Josephine. I also know there was another Uncle named Salvatore. That's about it. If you have connections to this branch, please let me know.

The reason I chose this message was I recall the name Scafani when I went to Aunt Lilly's home. Her daughter was Gussie. My grandfather's name was Stanislao Guardino and my grandmother's was Ignazia. I'm doing research on my husband's family. he has a grandmother whose maiden name was Annie Guardino. Her parents names were listed as Aurelio guardino and Frances Montalbano on her death certificate. Birth place was listed as Italy, 14 Sept 1896 I know her family immigrated to New York and she ended up in New Jersey eventually. I would love to know if she had brothers and sisters. Does any of this info work with yours?

I' 've been researching my husbands family. He has a great grandfather Aurelio Guardino also. My records show he was married to Frances Montalbano and they had a daughter named Annie. Annie then married Matteo Montalbano. It seemed strange to have the last name of Montlabano turn up again. Maybe an adoption could shed light on that. I'm curious if we have the same Aurelio. Branches of this family seem to reside in New Jersey or New York.

Hi William, I'm looking for descendants of/or any information on Gaspare SCLAFANI & Anna SCLAFANI, b. circa 1806, Sciacca, Agrigento, Sicily -my ggggrandparents.

There's a great possibilty that Anna SCLAFANI, may have been the daughter of Luigi SCLAFANI & Calogera GUARDINO, b. circa 1780's, Sicily -and may have had a brother Domenico SCLAFANI (b. abt. 1809, Sciacca), who married Calogera Antonia E. Rosa AMPLO, on 23 oct 1828, Sciacca, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy.

Gaspare SCLAFANI & Anna SCLAFANI had one known son:
Vincenzo SCLAFANI, b. 1833-1834, Sciacca - d. 18 Jun 1866, Sciacca -my gggrandfather

Vincenzo SCLAFANI, married Rosa DOLCEMASCOLO, circa 1858, Sciacca. Rosa was a daughter of Accursio DOLCEMASCOLO/DOLCIMASCOLO, and b. 1835-36), Sciacca, AG., Sicily. Rosa had a second marriage after the death of my ggf on 18 Jun 1866. She married Leonardo LICATA, had gave birth to twins, Calogera LICATA & Pelligrina LICATA, on 14 Mar 1871, Sciacca - At that time her last name was spelled as "DOLCIMASCOLO" on the Sciacca birth record for the twins.

The only known children of Vincenzo SCLAFANI & Rosa DOLCEMASCOLO, were:

Gaspare, b. abt. 1860, Sciacca

Anna, b. 6 Oct 1862, Madrice, Sciacca.

Accursio, 25 Nov 1864, Sciacca -my ggrandfather, who married: Providenza CURRERI, b. 31 Oct 1869 (family later changed surname to "GUIRRERI", after 1869).
The parents of Providenza, were Francesco CURRERI, b. 1833-34, and Caterina MARINO, b. abt. 1838, Sciacca
My Great Grandparents & Grandparents immigrated to NY, in 1899, and settled on Elizabeth St., Manhattan, NYC

Lynne!! Isn't this great? My grandmother May Mangiere and your grandmother Lillian Guardino were cousins! May was the daughter of your Louisa's brother Thomas.

Grandma is still around and will be 86 this month and her sister Jeanine is alive and is 80. Both are in good health and still running circles around the rest of us.

Just wanted to talk with you about your family history. My great grandfather was adopted into the guardino family that was from Sciacca. He also had another adopted brother. My grandfather had 9 children. There names are Mary, Lillian, catherine, Katie, Lucy, William, Paul, Gussie, and I believe there was another but I am not sure of her name.
