Would like to contact anyone with the surname, Guilbert or Guilbe, whose ancestors were or are from Puerto Rico, either from Ponce, Juana Diaz, Arroyo, Yabucoa, or any other part of the island.
I do not know where they came from originally. But I understand my great grandfather, James Guillbee, was a graduate of Oxford, in England and came to the Island in the mid 1880's. My grandfather was Jaime Guilbert Casanoba, whom married Juana Rodriguez Miranda, my grandmother, in 1900. Out of this marriage there were a number of children.
Miguel, Mercedes, Adolfo (my father) Lydia, Panchi, Judith,
Dominga, Ana, Cuca, Jose Miguel and Gilberto. Most of them
have passed away.I know there are a number of my cousins whom I never met. If anyone reads this and recognizes any of the names, please contact me.
