Interesting thread. I'm descended from Martin Guinan(b ca 1818) and Winifred Hough (b ca 1816), married in 1838 in Ballina, Tipperary. Moved to Corlea Commons, Feakle Parish in Clare before 1848. They had at least seven children: Margaret, Elln, John, Catherine, Martin, Patrick, and Michael, possibly a Mary. Most of the children emigrated from Clare to New York, settling in Gravesend, later Brooklyn, NY, including my ggf John. His son George was my gf, who was born, lived his life and died in Brooklyn in 1967.
