Andrew Byerly at Bushy Run ( harrison city,Pa.)
Andrew Byerly came to set up a post at bushy run in the 1750s.It was the halfway point to fort pitt from fort ligonier.
The col. heard Andrew was in trouble back east trying to sell government supplies on the bootleg market. He was sentenced
for trial but he knew george washington and col. Bouquet well.
When Col. Bouquet heard of Andrews trouble he had him sent to bushy run to open up the western land for better travel and set up a post.the battle at this post ended the indian fighting in the area and andrews water system saved the troops during the battle. Before the fight Andrews wife and newborn child fled to fort waltour and to fort ligonier.
