Margaret is the daughter of Lucinda Elliott and Richmond Gullet. Based on the fact that Lucinda kind of disappears after 1859 I would not be at all surprised to find that she died in childbirth and that Margaret stayed with her mother's family. The reason that I know Margaret is because she went on to marry Rufus Salmons of Iredell County North Carolina. They later moved into Smyth County Virginia. If you can provide me with an e-mail address I believe I have a copy of the marriage certificate for Richmond and Lucinda. Hope this helps!

Hi Judy,

I am trying to find information on my g-g-g-grandmother Sarah Gullett.

She married William B. Miller of Dearborn Co., Indiana. I believe she was born in 1813 in Delaware to Robert Gullett (b.1787 DE, d. 1842 IN). I believe her mother was Sarah Morrison (d. 1815 DE).

Therefore, based on your post, perhaps my Sarah Gullet is a sister to Charles (b. 1810 DE).

Do you have any info that confirms this?

Also you list as a source "History of Dearborn and Ohio Counties, Indiana - 1885". Is this a book? Can you tell me were you found it?

Quick message: how are you? Are you working? This is a public site, so respond privately. I'm not with Chicago Scenice- looking for new job. We agreed to disagree- several weeks out with surgery and hospital unexpectedly and came back to no job. Several months severance, but treated like cr-p. The owner didn't like having someone other than HIM be the face of the company. Control freak who'd never had an executive in the company other than himself and his uncle (CFO) and had never hired a woman manager before. Why do I keep getting this woman-haters?! Found out that Bertha may've been born instead in Johnson Co., Ky in 1890. Parents were Bas and Rebecca Gullet according to her obit. She had 2 brothers, Henry and Willie, and a sister, Cora. Still looking for any further info.

Mary Ann--My GGGrandmother was Delphia Gullett. She was born in Wilkes County NC on 11-27-1809, and married Drury Dobbins Roach on 1-1-1828 in Habersham County GA. I have on my genealogy file that Lee Gullette was her father. I have no other info on him, and don't know where I got his name! Can you help me with this? Do you have Delphia (or Delpha) Gullett in your files, and do you know her parents? Thanks!

Bertha's age from the 1900 census would have made her 20 on the 1910 verus the 18 given well within the plus or minus 2 year margin of error I always give. The Ohio part seem to have come from Harry's side of the family not Bertha's since she consistantly gives KY for the Gullet's.

Have not found Bazel Gullet on any other census. You might want to check the marriages in Carter Co. KY for Bazel/Rebeca and Bertha/Harry. Also the death indexes for that county.

Gullet is a variant of Gullett as is Gullatt. The name is traced back to a French Huguenot family group who immigrated to Maryland in 1670's from England. All who trace their ancestry back to this small group are kin folks one way or the other regardless how the name is spelled. A few have added an "e" to the end, some have dropped a "t", mine was changed to an "a" by a court clerk in 1753, but we are still all Gullett's. There are some who came much later who are not kin.

I am emailing the census image. Beshaba is living between two other Gullett familes Moses and Daniel. Because of the way John and Rees are listed I believe they are her Father in Law and Brother in Law. I would think Moses and Daniel are also Brothers in Law. Need to find them on the 1850.
Easter and Elizabeth are listed with Moses Gullett on the 1870. Have not found any of the other children.

The only Gullett on the 1830 in Habersham Co. GA is Jesse Gullet (the indexer spelled it Gallet but it's clearly Gullet on the image).

There is a Jesse Gullett indexed on the 1820 Wilkes Co. NC.
and a Jesse Gullett sen. indexed on the 1810 Wilkesbourgh Wilkes Co. NC.
Have found no Lee Gullette that could be Delphia Gullett Roach's father.
I don't believe anyone started adding an "e" until much later.

Are you my cousin Diane from Texas? I remember visiting my fathers (Raymond) brother in Texas as a child and his brother (I think it was Reece) who had a daughter Diane (who was a teen at the time) and a small blonde boy (younger than I ... I'm 53 now)
I remember that Diane took me to town to see a Disney movie and introduced me to my first "Cherry" Coke :)
My Mom (the family called her Rosie) still has family movies of a picnic in the front yard in Texas. We even have a few frames of "Aunt Sally" who was about 100 when we visited.

I have been to the Keith family tree site and sent some of the pic's to my mom. She was thrilled.
I never knew that Mom sent ya'll the clothes. She certainly kept us well dressed and was such a pain about keeping things clean ... I'm just hope you had more fun in them then I did :)
I'm trying to get the family information together (as far as my dad and mom) to tie into everyone else's tree. I'm also searching some of the old Ark records to see if I can find any scrap of Perry SR. I'll let you know :)

CHARLES GULLETT, farmer, Washington Township, was born in Delaware, July 28, 1810, where he received a fair education. His parents, Robert and Sarah (MORRISON) GULLETT, were natives of Delaware, where his mother died. His father came to this State in 1828. His second wife was Rebecca GULLETT, with whom he lived until his death March 28, 1843. His second wife died May 2, 1870, in her eighty-fifth year. Mr. Charles GULLETT was married, February 11, 1836, to Miss Anna SMITH, a native of the township, born March 6, 1818. To them were born five children: Mary E., Born November 29, 1836; Sarah E., born April 11, 1842; Rebecca, born June 12, 1845; Minnie, born January 29, 1848; Robert, born June 12, 1850. Mr.GULLETT has been a hard working farmer all his life, and in his old age is enjoying good health. He and his excellent wife belong to the Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. GULLETT'S father was in the war of 1812, but was discharged in a short time. The old gentleman was a farmer all through life, and a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

What I remeber most are the big boxes of hand-me-downs that Aunt Rosie would send to Janie and me. It was like Christmas and we were just enough younger that they would fit.
