Walter D. Gupton, 90, of Louisville and formerly of Scottsville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16 at The Forum in Louisville. The Green County, native was a retired vice president for Dollar General Corporation, member of Scottsville Baptist Church, member of Graham Lodge #208 F & AM, past master of Green River Lodge #88 F & AM, former member of the Scottsville City Council, Scottsville Housing Authority and Scottsville Country Club and World War II Army veteran. He was a son of the late Steward David Gupton and Effie Gertrude Tucker Gupton and husband of the late Lura Da Dalton Gupton. He is survived by one sister, Christine Tucker of Elizabethtown; one niece and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Corine Moss and four brothers, Garland Gupton, James Gupton, Earl Gupton and Garnett Gupton. Funeral services for Walter D. Gupton were held Friday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Visitation was Thursday evening and Friday morning. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery.
