I posted a message on this board that I simply found through a search engine back in the summer of 2000. I received a couple of replies in regards to my family history but nothing matched up.

In March of 2001 I received an e-mail from a Stuart Gurden in the UK that had the same story as my grandpa did. It turns that I found my grandpa's long-lost brother. Rather, his brother had passed on years previous and it was his son that we made contact with.

Since we discovered that we were related, there has been a visit from our UK relatives to our home here in BC, Canada as well as a trip by my grandparents to the UK to visit them.

If anyone is actually reading this, and is hoping to one day find their long-lost relatives, do not give up hope. I did not think much of the message I left on this ancestry board, but it turns out that just as I was searching the Internet for lost family, he to was casually searching. Thank you to the moderators/owners of this message board for keeping the messages posted up. I could not believe the coincidence of finding someone so far away in a relatively short period of time. Things happen for a reason and I guess this was meant to be.
