Greetings everyone. I am looking for a little help with my Gusey side. My grandfather, Arthur Wayne Gusey, and his family were from Redwood Falls / Lake Lillian area of Minnesota. His parents were Julius Martin Gusey (b. 15 Jul 1879) and Johanna (nee Burkheart, b. 1 Aug 1881). I know Julius was born in Wisconsin, but don't know where. I believe his parents were Chris (Christian) and Pauline (Klinger, b. Feb 1848). I have found a marriage record in Milwaukee county, WI for Chris Guse and Pauline Klinge in 1876, which would be about right, and they are on the 1880 Milwaukee census. I just am not sure if they are the same.
The family story goes that Christian was married before Pauline, and that the kids from that marriage are Guse, and they kids from Pauline are Gusey. He died around 1891/2 in Wisconsing, and then Pauline remarrried to Albert Wentland and they moved to Redwood or Renville County, MN.
Anyone having any links or information to clear some of this up would be appreciated. I have no idea where they came from prior to Wisconsin, or where they lived in Wisconsin. Thanks
