Morning. My great grandmothers name was Anna Gust. The information I have on her is that she was born 12 April 1875 in Bay City Michigan. Her parents I beleive were Charles and Fredareka Gust. Not sure where they were from. Anna married a Frederick Roscoe (born 1874). I beleive he was from Canada. Does this information fit into any of your family? Would love any information to help me with this side of my family.

I'm looking for information on Anna Gust. She married g-grandfather Benheldt Feldkamp and in 1870, lived in Grove, Illinois. I cannot find out anything about her parents or if she had siblings, etc.

1870 is the only information I have found regarding Anna.

Not sure if this helps or we are related, but my grandmothers (fathers side) mother's name was Anna Gust. I show she waa born in 1875 in Bay City Michigan. I always heard her family was from germany or somewhere over in Eurpoe. She married Frederick Roscoe.

Let me know if this helps or fits into any information you may have. Appreciate any help you might be able to pass on.

my grandmother on my fathers side was Sylvia Ann Roscoe, B. 1899 in Bay City, D 1980 in Flint. Her parents were Frederick Roscoe, B 1874?, who came from Canada, met, and married Anna Gust, B 1875?, in Bay City, Michigan. I think Anna's parents were Charles and Fredareka Gust. Not sure where they were from. This information fit into any of your family? Would love any information to help me with this side of my family.

BROOKSTON -- Cornelia Adriana "Cornie" Gust, 73, of Brookston, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, in her home.

Born Oct. 25, 1932, to the late Cornelius and Orena Egbert Van Boven in Huntingburg, she was a longtime resident of Logansport and moved to Brookston in 2001.

Her marriage was to Raymond Gust, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gust enjoyed decorating, and had made a living painting and wallpapering in the Logansport area.

Surviving are her six children, Gerri Erbaugh (husband: Roger) and Joni Eatmon, both of Brookston, Sarah Barton (husband: Richard) and Ann Downham Stroup (husband: Phillip), both of Collierville, Tenn., Chuck Hiatt (wife: Karen) of Albion, Mich., and John Hiatt (wife: Deb) of Logansport; and three sisters, Betsy Stephens (husband: George) of Logansport, Gerry Gray (husband: John) of Indianapolis and Jodie Barnard (husband: Dave) of Prescott, Ariz.

She was full of energy and life and was dearly loved by her children and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Brookston Federated Church, 2nd & Wood Street, Brookston, the Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds officiating. Graveside rites will be held in Logansport at Ever-Rest Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren, Drew Ott (wife: Debbie), Kees Hiatt, Kim Hiatt, Sarah Hiatt, Aaron Babb, Alex Barton, Andrew Barton, Adam Barton, Alexandra Stroup, Makenzie Stroup, Stephanie Hunt (husband: Andy), John Tyler Hiatt and Jamie Reese (wife: Mary); 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, Brian Reese; and a brother, John Van Boven. I know this is a very old post, but I recently started researching my ancestry, and came upon it. I was wondering how much info you have found since posting this message on Ferdinant Gust? Our family tree goes back to Ferdinant and Ernestine nee Graff. I would like to get further than that if possible. I have quite an extensive history after Ferdinant and Ernestine. A cousin of mine completed it before she passed. I am the great-great grandchild of Fredreck Wilhelm Gust, who was Ferdinant and Ernestine's 3rd child. Hi, I was research Gust family and do you familiar name was Henrietta Gust born 14 Oct 1826 at Ostpreussen and died 20 Sept 1900 in Leslie, Todd, Minnesota. She married to Frederich R, Sibell born 24 Sept 1826 at Panpia, Prussia and died 17 Mar 1896 at Bella River, Douglas Co., Minnesota. Henrietta's parent name was Gust and Suzanne Zulke.

I have a William E. GUST (b1878 Cyrus MI - d 1948 Kalispell MT) in 1906 in MT married Hilda Carolyn SAMPSON (1888-1975 - family unknown). Per obit, this William was son Charles and Bertha GUST of MN. Daus m COPPEDGE, GREEN, MAYNARD in MT.
1880 census shows Charles Gust b1837 Prussia and wife Bertha b1849 Prussia in Nora Pope Co MN. Several children incl Ida (b1869 WI - all others b MN) George b1871, Robert b1872, Dahlia b1874, Minnie b1876, WILLIAM b1979. Children mentioned in 1948 obit were Robert, Richard, Fred, Bernard of MN and Mrs. George HAMMERBACKER Chicago.
This likely parents/family my William.

Herman Gust & wife, also Pauline Gust & spouse in Chicago

Need help locateing the families of Herman & unknown (Karschnik) Gust from Chicago. They were in the Chicago area in 1939. Know nothing more about them. Mrs Herman Gust did not come for her fathers funeral in 1939. So could have been deceased by then. Also have a Pauline Gust & spouse Louis Karschnik. Hi, Looking into the history of GUST, Edward and Rose, Denver, Colorado. Family says that they are both from Bari area of Italy, Batrito. However, in 1930 Census, it says that Rose is born in Colorado. There is 9-10 years differnece in age for Rose and Edward, born late 1800's.

Children are Marie, Isabelle, Nicholas, Edward, Dorothy and Elaine. (I'm related by marriage to Dorothy)

researching my roots since my previous messages i have found out my mother got a bit confused & got some of the names wrong.
Grandfather Johannes GUST born in Fere Champenoise on 5/5/1892.
Grandmother Friedrika SCHOETTLE born in Wittenberg on 31/12/1893, married in the parish of Albota in 1915, she died in Alexandrowka on 12/4/1931.
Grandfather remarried Martha SCHLENKER (nee Baumann) born in Mocowei on 3/10/1897.
All children born in Alexandrowka
Reinhold 17/10/1915, Johannes 23/1/1917, Oskar 29/1/1919, Wilmar 17/9/1920, Anna Maria 12/9/1924, Hulda 18/3/1926 (my mother), Frieda 8/9/1927 died 1929, Frieda 21/5/1929.
I think my great grandparents were Christian GUST born in Katzbach 8/9/1855 died in Alexandrowka 1926, Louise SCHOETTLE born in Wittenberg date unknown died in Alexandrowka in 1937.
I also have the names Johannes Schoettle & Rosina Finkbeiner not sure of the link.

My Father,and two brothers, changed their names from GWOZDZ to GUST prior to joining the US Army in Chicago ILL. This happened before WWI. My Grandfathers name was Gerwazy Gwozdz and his wife was Anna Pietrzyk. I guess my question is this...is there a correlation, or reason, why they may have chosen the name of GUST?

Does the name Arnstena (Arnstina) Gust sound familiar? (Name could have been altered to Ernestine, I guess.) My Arnstena Gust was born November 26, 1846. She was married to Frederick Meinecke in 1870 near Princeton, Illinois. If she sounds familiar to anyone, let me know.

This is a follow-up to my earlier post. I now have a copy of Frederick Meinecke's marriage certificate. Her name is Anistena/Anistina or Anstena/Anstina Gristigust and they were married on 22 Jan 1872 in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois. Additionally, I now have a copy of her marriage certificate to Frank Decker and they were married on 27 Feb 1869 in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois. This is news to the family, as we did not know she was married before Frederick and, also, we have had her name wrong all these years. Her first name is spelled four different ways on the two marriage certificates.

I have information on a Gust family who immigrated to Minnesota in the early 1870's from Prussia. They were John Gust (b. around 1822) his wife Augusta Louisa Peipkorn Gust (b. around 1840.) their children, Louise Gust, Rudolph Gust, Paul Gust/Just, Amel or Emmel Gust, Anne Gust, Francis Gust, and Ella Gust.
Augusta went to South Dakota to homstead with some of her children while John stayed in Udolpho Township, Mower County.
The only information I have about them is that we believe they came from Pommern, Prussia and possible the town of Stettin. I have a record for the baptisim of Augusta Louisa Piepkorn, daughter of Ernest Friedrick August Peipkorn and Marie Le'febre. If this information is of any help, let me know and I can fill you in on descendants. This summer I hope to have a grandson do some checking of records in Berlin where many of the records from Pommern were relocated. Donnetta Spink

Replying to M Lockett. My grandfather was also Rudolph Charles Gust. My mother was your father's younger sister, Gladys Adelaide Gust (Ellis). I have quite a bit of information about the Gust family. Infact we, one of my sisters and I were wondering where you and your sisters were. The information from Germany, we believe what was once Pommern, Prussia and possible the area of Stettin is where the Gusts came from. The first census they were on in the United States indicated they came from Prussia.

I don't know if this will help or not. John Gust and Augusta Piepkorn Gust had a son named Emil born in Prussia around 1875. He would have been about 30 in 1994. I don't know who he married or when. His family settled in Minnesota. His older brother, Rudolph charles married Rosetta Collins who was from Wisconsen. They met in South Dakota however. I believe that Emil had a daughter named Clara Lenora, married name Dodge. If this is of interest let me know. Donnetta Spink

my cousins last names are gusts don't know much about the gust lines. their greatgrandfather came over in 1895 from prussia they don't remember their grandmother's name. their father died at a young age in 1962 of heart ailments his name was emil walter gust jr. his father died at a young age also from heart problems after their father died their mother stayed with her side of the family. i have noticed that the gust name thier children similar names such as charles jeffery and emil if anyone can help me i would appreciate it they live in indianna. thank you

Are your Wennemans from the Cleveland area? Joseph H. Wenneman married Augusta C. Zoeller (Zoller/Zeller) and they lived in Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, in the 1930 census. It is probable that he died December 16, 1932 in Cuyahoga County. Please write if you are connected to them or can aid me in information on descendants or obituaries, burial site, etc.! He was an attorney.
