Am trying to find any trace of John Dee Guyton, my husband's grandfather. His son (my husband's father,also named John Dee Guyton) was born in 1915 in Hamilton Chattanooga TN. His mother was Mae Hallmark, who would have been 15 or 16 years old at his birth. There was no birth certificate issued,and though my husband's father was told his mother and father had been married, I can find no proof of that, nor of the divorce she said they got later. I really have no evidence that he existed; just what John Dee Guyton Jr. said his mother told him. I thought the middle name "Dee" would help, but it may have become "D" on legal documents, or maybe the name was part of a story Mae told to make her son feel better.
