Frederick T. HAACK, 70, Geneseo Resident The Past 50 Years Is Dead
Frederick Theodore HAACK, resident of this city for the past 50 years passed away at his home, 418 South Spring street, at 4:30 o’clock Friday afternoon, April 25, 1930, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 3 days. He had been in failing health the past eight months, suffering from heart trouble and complications.
Mr. HAACK was born in Grimmen Pommeron, Germany, and came to this county at the age of 21 years and since that time has lived continuously in Geneseo. He was united in marriage February 25, 1886, to Miss Albertina MASENGARB in this city. For many years he was employed at the local brick and tile works. He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran church and had many friends in this community.
Surviving are the widow, three sons, Herman of Geneseo, Carl of Detroit, and Albert of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Lee YOUNG of Munson township; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Herman EICHHORN of Geneseo; a stepson, William HAAGA of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren; a brother, Henry HAACK of East Moline; and a sister, Mrs. Herman NEHLS of this city.
Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock and from the Concordia Lutheran church at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. H.J. ELLING in charge. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. The pallbearers were Ed. KLAVOHN, William MIX, Bert TELL, August SCHUETZLER, August GOETZ and Henry FISCHER.
Friends and relatives from out of town who called at the home Sunday were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. William FREY and son Roy of East Peoria; Mr. and Mrs. Peter FREY, Mr. and Mrs. Fred FREY, and daughters; Mr. and Mrs. Fred BROWN and Mr. and Mrs. Richard BAILEY of Peoria; Mr. and Mrs. Burdette NASH of Galva; Frank HOLKE, Herman KRAMER, August BORST and Fred SMITTINGER of Rock Island; Mrs. Minnie ZWISSLER of Forest Park; William MASENGARB, Mr. and Mrs. William SANTEE and Mr. and Mrs. Fred OSLUND of Moline.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral services Monday afternoon were: C.F. SCHNABLE of Kansas City; Miss Frieda NEHLS and Mr. and Mrs. R. C. KOEHLER and son Wayne, of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. James Ellingsworth and son, Duane, and Mr. and Mrs. MALLONE of Colona; Mrs. C. LOWE of Green River; Mrs. John BELOWSKI and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl KRAMER, Mrs. Fred SMITHINGER and Herman KRAMER of Moline; Mr. and Mrs. Ed TAMME and Mr. and Mrs. Will ROHRBACH of Orion; Mr. and Mrs. George MASENGARB of Rockford; and Mrs. Frank COCHRAN of Peoria.
