I know he moved to the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma Terr. around the late 1800s
from Russia. His cousins had the claims on the land. They were Rupps and Justs.
His wife was Maria Herrimann(?) and his children were Emily, William, Martha (Married John Bhelm),

Former CSU Fresno president; 68 ASSOCIATED PRESS Harold Haak, former president of California State University, Fresno for more than a decade, died Dec. 26 after lapsing into a coma a day earlier. He was 68. Fresno State President John Welty said Haak Mr. Haak died at SaintSt. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno. The cause of his death was not immediately released. Jared Kaiser, the longtime educator ' s son-in-law, told The Fresno Bee Haak that Mr. Haak had been admitted for an allergic reaction. Haak Mr. Haak served as Fresno State ' s president from 1980 to 1991. He " provided strong leadership for the development of our academic program, " Welty said. " It was also during his tenure that the athletic program took a giant leap forward. " Haak Mr. Haak agreed in March 2000 to serve as interim president of Fresno Pacific University until Merrill Ewert took over last year. Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 1/3/2004. I am descended from the Johan George Hauk (later Haak, Haag, Hauch, Haugh etc) German immigrant to Pennsylvania in 1733. My line of descent is through his son Johan George Jr in Berks Co PA; His son George Michael; his son Jacob who wandered through Dauphin and Centre Counties and finally ended up in Jefferson County as HAUGH. Then down from Jacob through Benjamin, William and to my grandmother May Elizabeth Haugh born in 1886, Jefferson Co PA.

I have lots of Haugh info. I'll do free lookups in my recently published book "The Haugh FAmily...through the Pennsylvania Counties of Berks, Dauphin, Centre and Jefferson".

Discovered that Haak living in Rotterdam in 18th century originated from Lewis and Mary Hake who belonged to English episcopal church. They were probably born in the mid twenties of the 18th century, but where?

Am looking for decendents of Carl and Dorothea Haack who came over here from Prussia in 1855. They settled around Middleton, WI. Carl had 2 brothers, Wilhelm and Joseph, who also came over at the same time. Their son, Wilhelm F. changed the spelling of the name from Haack to Haak. He married Marie C. Sanftleben, and they had 7 children. Walter A., twins Ralph J. and Raymond C., Elmer, Hilda, Russell J, and Gilson. My daughter is the grandaughter of Russell J. Haak. Any info will be welcome.

Okay, here's the deal. On my mothers side, my grandmother's maiden name was Lotte Haak 1921-1969. She had two sisters, Frieda and Betty, and three brothers though I only have two names, Erich and Max. Parents were Christian Haak and Martha. All originating from the Hamburg region, Germany, or there abouts. Any info?

This lady was born about 1855 and married August Tessmann on October 6 1883 at an Evangelical Lutheran Church. My great-great Grandmother was Emmelia Haak of Robe, Germany who settled in Sangamon County. Since the "HAAK" name isn't that common, we're wondering if the two are some relation. My great-great grandmother was born 1833 and also married a Tessman, William Tessman.
