My grandfather was Christian Haakenson ( deceased approx 1954) and was born in the U.S. mid-west probably in the 1870's. It is possible that it was Minnesota, as my grandmother was from that area and her name was Josephine Marie Valler ( known as Marie) More Info being forwarded to me later. He had at least two brothers, one being named Lawrence and I do not have a confirmed name for the other. He moved to Pleasantdale, Saskatchewan, Canada in the late 1800's and had five children. His brothers moved there for a time as well but their history is unrecorded. I do have record of my father's greatuncle Edward Benjamin Haakenson who died in 1960's, single as far as we know, also born in the U.S.
As there were no immigration records kept for that time period I have very little historical record of previous family and would dearly appreciate any tips or links.
