Hi, I am looking for haapalas from around Isojoki Finland, or places close to virginia minnesota (st louis county) My great great grandfather was named jacob haapala born in 1871, in finland. He married Aurora Adophina Hautaviita (may be spelled hautavita or hatavita )
Their Children were: Amelia Haapala born 1899 in isojoki finland, married William Saari, Eino (or aino ) emil haapala, born the 15th of march 1902, Arthur Haapala, born in minnesota in 1908, Erland W. Haapala, born the 12 of october 1909( minnesota), Jane Mathilda Haapala, born the 30th of march 1911(minnesota), she married someone with the last name: Borgman, Waldo Victor Haapala, born the 22 of November 1915, in Minnesota, Ellis Albert Haapala born the 2 of July 1918, in Minnesota, and Inez or Ines Haapala, born in 1920 or 1921, in Minnesota. Ines (or Inez) married an man, last name ingeborg vack , or just vack. As I have researched, I have found that the haapala name was absolutely slaughtered, and may be read as hapala, happala , hapley , hapoja , haapaja , harpole , harple, or harbala . Dont hesitat to reply, if you are unsure of anything I have written!
