Hi:
My name is Keith Jeannotte and I worked for your Great Grand Dad and Grand Mother Ed and Mutzi Haberstroh from the time I was 12 years old till I entered the service. They were great people Though I was teased a lot by your Uncles John and Zeek whos name I think was Walter,You also had an Aunt that was there for one summer I think she was a past Navy Nurse. At times I was sent to help Edward Jr ,Emil, Your Grand Dad Carl, I was very young and It seemed to me that they owned half of North Dakota,I remember putting up thousands of Hay Bales. And riding a million miles on a John
Deere model (R)Tractor. I miss those wonderful people so much. Thanks for reminding me of the great nostalgia.

Yous Keith Jeannotte

I am interested in the Haberstroh family history. I have traced our family ancestry back to Maximilian Haberstroh from the vicinity of Riegel/Frieburg to his birth in 1705. If you can give me information from before then,it would interest me greatly! His sons were Amand and Julius who emigrated to America in 1862. Amand was my great-great grandfather. He was a shoemaker and Julius was a blacksmith. I might be able to add to your list of Haberstrohs from 1862 forward.

Joseph was my Great-Great Grandfather. I am Virginia Davis daughter then her mother Mary Elizabeth (Hazel) Wiles to Charles William Haberstroh then Joseph. I was so tickled when Mom took the oil painting to a photographer and had them make a good photo of it. It also tickled me that he borrowed an officers uniform to pose for this picture since he was only a private.

Joseph was my great grandfather. Thank you for your information. I wasn't able to make the Davis connection. I knew a Virginia Davis in Hillsboro, Missouri. She always said we were related. The picture was great. I have an old brittle what looks like a partial life summary by Frank Haberstroh, Joseph's son but I could never really read it and have never taken the time to translate it one word at a time. It is in English but not very readable. I was really fascinated that he served in the Civil War. I remember very little but with my mother's help I might be able to piece more together about the time on Norfolk ave in St. Louis.

Hi Klaus. My great-grandmother's name was Bertha Haberstroh. She married John Struvy around 1887, but I don't have their marriage certificate. Their first child was born in 1889, so I am guessing at the marriage date. They probably married in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Their last child was Bertha Struvy, my grandmother.
Searching online, I found a Haberstroh family that immigrated to the US in 1879. Their daughter Bertha (born about 1863 in Germany) may be my great-grandmother. Their birth year is the same. Are you any relation to the family of Auguste and Maria Haberstroh?

Cathy

I can not recall all the names right now, but my mother was a Haberstroh and should remember most. There were I believe 11 siblings all together. My grandfather was Carl Haberstroh. Our family came over from Oddessa (I hope that is spelled right) in about 1914. I hope that helps some.

Hello, I've recently started researching this line of my ancestry. My ancestor is Minerva Carline Habastrogh (b. June 1867) according to her son's Social Security card application, and she married Franklin Charles Bullock and lived in Evansville Indiana. I have reason to believe her brothers Frank and John spelled it Habestroh, as found on her funeral card listed as living relatives. She also had a sister named Mabel Pina (born about 1889) who married Charles R McClelland and lived in Danville, Illinois.

Any information on this line of the Habestroh family would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I'm just starting to research this branch of my family now that I received another Social Security card application photocopy.

My ancestor is Minerva Carline Haberstroh (Habastrogh) and I found her funeral card today online at the Browning Genealogy website. The following relatives of hers were listed, and I want very badly to get any and all information on:

According to her funeral card from the Browning Genealogy website, her children are:
Felix- Pasadena, CA
Sherman- LA
Floyd, William, and Ed- Evansville
Mrs Cora Wiseman- Louisville, KY
Mrs. Ester Sutton- Evansville

Her siblings are:
Frank Haberstroh- Evansville
John Haberstroh- Rockport, Indiana
Mrs. Eva Cameron- Evansville
Mrs. Pina McClellan- Danville, Illinois

I'm sure this Pina McClellan is the same person you mentioned! I know it's been ages since the original post but I very much hope to get in contact with you to share our information.

Thank you very much!

As you can see at my name, I'm interessted in any informations about the "Florreich" family.
Specially about the husband of Josephine, Edward Maximillian Florreich. The only thing I know, is that he was the son of Philipp Heinrich Florreich, born 12th Sept. 1840 in Wiesbaden-Bierstadt, Germany. He immigrated 1854 with his parents to the states. I don't have any birthday or day of death. I know about their 3 childs, Lester Argyle, Edward Lyle and Ruth and their descendants. If you are interessted in the ancestors of the husband of Josephine, please let me know.
I believe Josephine would have been my great aunt. My uncle Lionel Haberstroh keep in contact with his cousin Ruth during his life. Lionel had three brothers of which Stanley was my father and 2 sisters. Their father was Frank who would have been a sister of Josephine. I think Josephine was born Novermber 5, 1868 to Joseph Haberstroh and Elizabeth Mary Dauernheim but I could not confirm her birthdate to determine if this is correct. If this is correct then her grandparents were Andreas and Josepha Haberstroh both born about 1816 in Baden, Germany. They immigated to the US in 1850 at New Orleans. Andrea appears on a wanted list from 1854 in Baden Germany.

I haven't heard from anyone...thought I would add some more information. Joseph is my great-great-great grandfather. I even have one family recipe that has been passed down in the family. Additionally, I have a picture of him in his uniform and information on my line. I don't know what you are looking for...however, I found a passenger list with him and siblings Albertine, Amalia, Raymond, and Cobston....

Do you have any information on his wife, Elisabeth Dauernheim??

Hi Klaus,

I am looking for the family history of my Great Aunt Mable Pina Haberstroh. She was my favorite aunt and told alot of Great Stories about her life. She said her Grandfather was from Berlin Germany. She remembered 2 slaves named Aunt Fanny and Uncle Tom. I do not know her father or mothers name. I do know she had 2 stepmothers. The first stepmother had a daughter named Pearl. My aunt married Charles Mcclellan and they lived in Danville Illinois. My aunt died in 1983. She was 94 years old. She was still living on her own and taking complete care of herself and her home at the time of her death! She was an extradorinary person whom I loved and looked up to. I have been wanting to find out her family history and more detailed history about her. Do you have any information on her?
I have a branch of the Haberstrohs in
America (specifically Iowa).
The line starts with Casimir Haberstroh,
born in Baden, Germany 1803-1807 and died
July 1850 in Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa.
The family emigrated around 1845 with wife
Christiana, and children Julius and
Gustave.
HABERSTROH Jakob: the search for him in America

Jakob Haberstroh was born 24 Mar 1825 in the town of Diefenbach in the German state of Wuerttemberg as the son of Christian and Catharina Barbara (nee Fazler) Haberstroh. He came to America sometime between 1841 and 1853. The family was Lutheran (German: evangelisch).
HABERSTROH Ferdinand: seeking descendants

According to German records Ferdinand HABERSTROH (born 12 Oct 1827) and his brother Christian Gottlieb HABERSTROH (born 15 Aug 1842) emigrated from the town of Duerrn in Baden, Germany, to the USA in 1869. They were the sons of Ferdinand HABERSTROH (1800-1877) and Karoline (ENGEL) HABERSTROH (1799-1876). Ferdinand emigrated with the consent of his wife, Christine (STAMM) HABERSTROH (born 19 Aug 1842), who remained in Duerrn. The family was Lutheran. I'm interested in finding descendants of this family in the USA. My home page (http://www.uni-bonn.de/~unq01e) has to do with this and other cases of "lost" US Haberstroh immigrants.
