Thanks for the info. On the ships manifest, it listed a man by the name of Meier as sponsor for my grandparents. He lived in or near Goodwin, OK. My grandmother was born in 1885, so her sister Katharina, might have been a little younger than that. My grandfather was 25 years old, and my grandmother was 23 years old in 1910 when they left Russia. Would your Joh. Gottfried have had a brother who would also have had a Jacob as a child?

RE: Rubina Elizabeth Spooner

I am looking for information about Rubina Eizabeth Spooner (dob: 1 Mar 1873 in Storrington, Frontenac, Ontario), daughter of Thomas Spooner [born 1841, Ontario] and Margaret Elizabeth Muir [born 1845, London, Westminster, Susssex, England]. Margaret's parents were Francis Muir and Sarah Prince. I can only find definite records for a sibling Mary Ann (dob 1 Aug 1881 on birth certificate) and possible records for a Sarah, born sometime in 1871 (marriage certifcate to James Long in Ontario 3 Jul 1897)

According to Rubina's marriage certificate, she (age 21) married Thomas John Healey (age 22), a barber and son of John and Isabella Healey in Kingston on 7 Oct 1894 in Lennox and Addington, Ontario. They had 4 children: William (age 5) no birth certificate located; Thomas John born 30 Aug 1897; Edith Maud born 1 Oct 1899 and Charles Elmer Healey 20 Aug 1901. She is on the 1901 census in Ontario with her family, though Charles wasn't born yet. Apparently, her husband died sometime around 1907 and she is on the 1910 US census in Chicago with 3 of her 4 children and listed as a widow. I think her daughter Edith Healey stayed in Canada, listed on the 1911 census in Ontario with Phillip and Ella Haffner. ALthough I can find no record, I believe that Ella was Rubina's sister and married Phillip Haffner. Does anyone have any record of this marriage or information that could help me be sure of Ella's relationship to Rubina?

The birth record for Charles Elmer is a form dated 25 Feb 1942 and she signs herself "Rubina Healey Davidson". I can find no record of this later marriage nor locate her on any later US census. I think she had a son "Francis" from this union. Any information about this marriage would be appreciated, too.

Thanks much!

I would like to verify if I have you recorded in the Haffner history. You may contact me directly at conniesmithcave@hotmail.com Again thank you for your generous offer. Connie
