Trygve Odin Haga, a quiet but witty family man known for his love of sports, books, and a glass of Chardonnay, died Saturday, July 7, 2007. He was ninety years old. Trygve was born September 20, 1916, in Reynolds, North Dakota, to Ole and Ida Haga. He graduated from Reynolds high School in 1934; married Harriet Frances Frank on December 14, 1946; and went on to become an assistant regional administrator for the United States Department of Labor's Pacific Northwest region. He liked his coffee strong, his roses fragrant and his crosswords finished, and in his last week, lamented in a letter that the Mariners were "not quite World Series caliber yet". He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and his wife, Harriet. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Carlson, of Olympia; Mary Walker, of Mount Vernon; Karen Ramey, of Kelso; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
