In the 1820 census they have 2 boys under 10 the boys are not in the house in 1830. But they have a girl 5-9 in the house.

Does anyone have any info on this family?

I am searching for information about my g.g.g.g. grandmother Francis, (Anne/Fanny) Hagens. She was born about 1802 in new York. She was married to Jeremiah Williams. They lived on Mackinac Island, Mi. Jeremiah died about 1845 in MI. I have not been able to locate any burial info on her or yrs. she died. She shows up on an 1850 census, (age 48) for Mackinac Island living with a Belote Family.
I haven't been able to find the names of her parents. The only info I've been able to come up with are Dutch names for both her mother & father, but am not sure if this is correct & her 1st & last names were shortened at time of marriage. The 1st part of her 1st name would be correct as would be the last part of her last name - that is the only clue I have. Her son Lewis was a Lighthouse Keeper on Chambers Island.
If anyone has any info about her, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.
My e-mail address is:
woodrow1@charter.net
Karen Pitton

There are lots of Hagans in the Chillocothe, OH all descended from this line. There were more children that came after 1870. I am descended from one of thes (Charles Hagans). Let me dig up the information and I'll send.

It looks like the Hagans originally came from Northen Ireland to PA and then to Virginia. Somewhere I have a picture of the grave of John Hagns father (James Hagans) who fought in the Revolutionary War
regards
Bryan Monaghan

HI, I am the forth ggrandaughter of these folk as well. Have you even been able to find a marriage record that would record that Thomas was her father? There is a lot of dispute over whether Rachel was a Hagan; a Wilcoxson; or a Tate. Apparently there is a lot of confusion on Ancestry regarding this.
All, I traveled to Indiana, Pa a couple of weeks ago to the Genealogical Historical Society Library, and they have folders of information on different families, including the Hagan/Hagans/Hagens families. They also have multiple Newpapers from that era on microfilm that you can look through. They are located at 200 6th street in downtown Indiana, Pa if that is an option for you. In addition, you can visit the County Courthouse there, which I plan on going back through the week (closed on weekends). I found an article on my great, great grandfather's murder from 1921. It was an amazing resource. - Larry

John Hagans came to America prior to the Rev. war, served in a NJ militia unit under Geo. Wash.
Then moved to Botetonet Co., Virginia. Had several children, 3 sons; John,William and my line was James he moved to Ohio, then Ill, and then to near Greenville, Ind. His son was Richard, and his son was John Morris Hagans.
Besides the 3 boys he had 6 girls; Mary,Margarett, Elizabeth, Melly, Nancy, and Martha. Eliz was born 3-7-1835.
She went by Eli, and married maybe a Radcliff? The family history was copied from a family bible in the late 1800s.
The writer expected the reader to ref. to the old bible, which I've never seen. The original paper I have is hard to read.

Rachel Hagans - daughter of Thomas Hagan

I am looking for any information on my 4th Great Grandmother, Rachel Hagans, born about 1773 - daughter of Thomas Hagans (born about 1744) and Sarah Wilcoxson (born about 1745). Granddaughter of John Wilcoxson and Sara Cassandra Boone. She was the Great Granddaughter of Squire Boone and Sarah Morgan.

I have heard stories of how she and my 4th Great Grandfather Thomas Brinegar were divorced . . . and am just wondering if anyone knows the story (I think it got kind of messy) behind this.

Thanks
Karen Roberdes Wells

Edward "Simeon" Hagans - update

I would like to post a correction to the Edward Simeon records. It has taken a lot of digging but I believe we finally have the confusion of 3 Edward "Simeon's" cleared up!

Edward Simeon Hagans was the son of Edward Henry Haggins and Sally Youngblood (I have a copy of the marriage license). They married 1/6/1807. They had a son Edward SIMEON, born Aug. 1807. They had another child, Elizabeth, born 1809. Sometimes between 1809 and 1812, Sally died. (The Simeon name is found in the Youngblood line).

Edward then married Hearty Porch in 1812, in Georgia. They also had a son Edward (but NOT Simeon), borm 1822.

Edward SIMEON, b. 1807, (son of Sally Y.), married Parthenia Scoggins, in Paulding Co., Ga and raised a family there. His sister Elizabeth also moved there and married a Holland.

Edward, b. 1822, (son of Hearty), moved to Alabama, and married Gilly Tankersley.

I am a direct descendant of Edward and Gilly. I will be more than glad to send anyone who wants it, a copy of the marriage license and one page descendant chart of these 2 lines. Contact me through here. correct email is: jgetsmail@nc.rr.com
