Kristin. My Hagel family is said to be from NuenKerchen( I don't believe I'm spelling that correctly) Bade-Baden area of Germany. I know that the first ancestors came over sometime before 1858. Andrew Hagel who married Amelia Dang, Had a daughter in 1856 named Amelia who married John Mahoney (I don't have any info on them)Albert Mary also had a son named Albert born here in New Jersey on 9/5/1858. Albert married Mary Cecilia Klinger, they had 13 children. I fall under one of the thirteen. I'm also stuck, I'm trying to trace back to when exactlly Andrew Hagel came into the States and who he came here with. I know he was in the Civil War and was born sometime in 1835 and died in Newark, NJ on 10/29/1876 from a train accident. But I'm stuck there. Any info you might have would be greatful. I know he is said to have had siblings, that may have gone west but I have not been able to locate. I'm at a brick wall right now.
