I'm an American but lived many years in Lebanon and I'm considering trying to get my kids Lebanese citizenship. The family tree chart can help. Sincerely George Hajjar

My parents are from Aleppo, but I live in Beirut Lebanon, and I have been working on our family tree. There were many Hajjars in Aleppo but not all are related. We are Maronite Catholic and all of our relatives like my parents were the last to leave Aleppo, Syria to Beirut, Lebanon in the mid-60s. Some late relatives, left Aleppo around the turn of the century, and I am looking for their decendants. If any Hajjars out there are Maronite Catholic with ancestry from Aleppo, most likely we are related. Please contact me.
Regards, Riad

i'm Richard Abdel Jamil Hajjar ( El -Hajjar )
i used to follow the tree of the Hajjar's great family, and i was lucky to find the origin of that family tree that came since 8 GRANDFATHERS back in time when the first Hajjar member "Estephan Khoja Tadchi" ( Prenounced Tachiji, translated into Hajjar, or the stone subdue, who makes shapes by the stone ) left Ourfa city in Turky with the whole family, and then the family spread into branches , part went to the USA, another part to Egypt, and part to Syria and Iraq, and the biggest part to Lebanon...
Hope that someone have the original tree of Hajjar's family in Lebanon, it's a very important issue...
My name is Michael Hajjar and I live in the Washington, DC area. Over the last year, I've had an interest in reconnecting with my family in Massachusetts, especially those from the Merrimack Valley area. I've been out of touch since my father, Dr George Hajjar, passed away 14 years ago. I posted a Holiday message to the Hajjar's in the December 19th issue of the Eagle Tribune. It's been wonderful in that I've received responses by some long lost family. I will be in the area at least 2, maybe 3 times in 2004. If there is any other family who reads this message, please contact me at Hajjman@aol.com. God Bless!

Hi Martin,

I think we do have some connection here as I was told the village from Syria was Bdada! Not quite your spelling, but close enough to recognize! Do you have a copy of your tree? My Hajjar Tree is hand drawn and very hard to decipher. I am not sure who are brother and sister and who are children! But, I do have an Ellias listed.

Can you send me what you have? Then I can work on it here and compare it with mine and send it back?? I have a MAC so if you can cut and paste your information right onto an e-mail page, I can be sure to be able to open it!

Jeanne

littleprof@nbn.net

Yo Martha

Did you ever find out any other information about David Hajjar? Was his father actually Soloman Hajjar? Do you know any brothers or sisters of David or Soloman, and do you know what village in Lebanon any of them came from?

I've been in touch with a lot of Hajjars over the net, and there were a lot of branches of the family from several different villages in Lebanon. I'd love to expand the family tree into different branches if you have any other information about your family. Our family was from Mashgara, and I recently got in touch with a guy whose family was from Souk El Gharb. He has an extensive tree for that family.

let me know. You can email me directly at wkeys@gci.net. I'm intrigued about the South Dakota connection, because that was where my branch of the family settled--except there isn't any knowledge of a David Hajjar in any of MY parts of the family. There were a lot of Hajjars there, but they all seemed to know each other.

I'm in Alaska--where are you?

douglas Haggar

David Hajjar

I might be able to help you. Do you know any other information, like David Hajjar's brothers or sisters or parents? I have a reasonable knowledge of Hajjars in South Dakota, but there is no David of that generation that I know of. There are, however, several Hajjar branches that are incomplete on my charts. If you can track down any other relatives, it might help place him. Lemme know. We might be cousins, but I'm not going to put you in my will just yet.

Douglas

Hi Douglas, Thank you for your reply. I will have to ask my mom about her father's sisters, brothers, etc. I never met them.
He was born in about 1898 or so in Lebanon. I believe his father's name is Solomon Hajjar.
He married Martha Nejame. I will definitely find out more. Do you have your charts on-line?
For now, I'll just mark you down in the "potential family" category, ha ha.
Thanks again for the reply. Hope to have more info soon.

Martha
