Thanks for the prompt reply. Regarding the Alloa connection the only things i have found are of more of a conjectural nature . I noticed that looking for reasons for P/Hs presence in Radwinter (1844) the local inn ( The Plough ) is owned by a John Chapman , his wife Janet is from Scotland . There is a marriage (13/jan/1826 St James Westminster , London ) between a John Chapman and a Janet Haldane . There is also a Janet Haldane born in Alloa abt 1881 to a Peter & Janet Haldane (There are acouple of Janets according to the C/O/L/D/S site ) so is it is possible Peter had spent Xmas with his sister and her family ? . Obviously obtaining any proof is not very easy , any ideas ?.
