Looking at Ken Hales' site, looks like Isaiah and Mathew were brothers but their father was Chapman (Henry's brother). Chapman and Henry's father was also a Henry (b.1736 md Milly Barrow)...and his father was John (md. Elizabeth). On these abstracts I see Enoch as a buyer. He is likely the son of Chapman, Henry or Lewis, all sons of Henry(1736). Just a guess but boy would I love to know as Enoch is as high as I have gotten in my family tree.

Looks like he lived and worked on somebody's farm according to a Nash County record book I looked at at the Heritage Center in Smithfield. May be buried there on a family cemetary. I'm guessing the Bailey/Middlesex area. May tie into some of the many Hales' buried at the church near the intersection of 231 and 39. I'm chasing it as he is as far back as I have gotten on my direct family line. Tooie.

I have no Idea what his brother, mother or fathers name was. The census prior to 1850 only list the head of households name and gender and ages of the other family members and no names. I only know that he left from Cumberland county NC in 1844 suposedly with his brother heading toward MS. I would have to wonder if his mother and father were both deceased at that time. He would have been around 25 years old when he left.

My great grandparents were John Hales (known as Jack ) and Mary Ann Evans. I have birth certificates for their 6 children and one death certificate for who I belive to be John Hales. The oldest of the children was b 1877 the youngest 1890 after Johns death. John was a tinplate worker and after his death the boys were put into the Lambeth New School. After 4yrs searching I can find no record of a marriage between John and Mary. The 1881 census states that they were both born in Middlesex, also on this (the only census they appear on ) Mary is calling herself Maria but reverts back to Mary Ann on the 1891 census where she says born St Martins. On the 1901 census Mary appears again with the surname Stagg one of her sons is with her as stepson and the youngest girl as stepdaughter. I would dearly love to know more about them.

Hi Emma

Peter Hales and Elizabeth Curtis married on 30 Sep 1770 at Boreham. (IGI again!)

The NBI has the following two deaths:

First name(s): Peter
Last name: HALES
Date of burial: 7 Feb 1794
Age at death:
Calculated year of birth: Not known
Place of burial: Boreham
Dedication: St Andrew
County: Essex

First name(s): Peter
Last name: HALES
Date of burial: 19 Jun 1796
Age at death:
Calculated year of birth: Not known
Place of burial: Boreham
Dedication: St Andrew
County: Essex

As no age is given it's impossible to know if either of these is our Peter.

A search of the IGI revealed there were Hales living in Boreham in the late 1600's. Elizabeth Hales was born about 1687 and married Henry Hart in 1708.

Samuel Hales of Boreham married Elizabeth Groom in 1739 at Boreham.

Samuel Hales of Boreham [born abt 1714] married Elizabeth Gowers in 1739. Could this be the same couple as above?

Pheobee Hales born abt 1679 at Boreham, married John Wite in 1700 at Boreham.

Ann Hales married Robert Blakes at Boreham on 28 SEP 1807 Boreham.

Elizabeth Hales married Henry Hart in 1708 at Boreham.

I have no proof that Peter had siblings called William & Elizabeth but they were about the same age, married and having children at the same time in Boreham. It's likely they were related. Their father could have been Samuel Hales, whom married Elizabeth Groom/Gowers in 1739. He was born about 1714.

Good luck with your research.
Kate

I am searching for any info on the parents of Jonathan Hales who moved to GA in 1844 then Alabama(Eufaula). He supposedly had a brother that left with him and supposedly they started out on the way to Mississipi. He Married Rebecca Autrey in 1845 in Harris Co. GA and as far as I know he never went to MS but his brother might have. I only know that he left Cumberland Co. NC in 1844 by a letter of Character I have a copy of. That doesn't mean he was born there.

Jeniffer, I am your cousin. Your Father "Jackie" was my Father's youngest brother! His name is Bob Hales. My name is Lou Ellen Hales. Wow! I remember you as a baby, you have a sister... right? Uncle Jackie had a son named "Donald Ray" as well. He was killed a few years back in Florida(I think). I was so excited to see you on here I didn't finish reading your post. My personal email is: j hales 86 @ yahoo .com.... I would love to hear from you either here or there.
