I was making a family tree and found your post. We must be related. This is what I have so far on John

Grandmother Lillie Florence Chambers
Born: March 10, 1891
Died: June 6, 1963

Grandfather John Bunyan Haley (second Generation Cherokee? Indian)(3/4 Indian)
Born: March 10, 1883 in Detoni, Arkansas, Saline County (now Benton ?)
Died: September 11, 1972 buried at Lost Creek Cemetery 1 mile west of Sheridan Arkansas off USHwy70 - John Bunyan worked in timber logging also worked on oil fields in California. 9 children … about 69 in tall. Average Weight about 145-150 lbs. Lots of black hair - died with lots of hair at 89.

Great Grandmother (first Generation Cherokee Indian)
Rebecca Hiziah (Waters) Walters
Born: 1849 and Died: 1929 Rebecca was a full blooded Cherokee? Indian ,,, born and married in Grant County in and around Jenkins Ferry, Arkansas … They homesteaded 200 acres and farmed in Saline County, Arkansas Rebecca’s last name was WATERS but changed to Walters for security reasons. Farm was located about 10 miles from Benton, Ark.

William Moultry Haley
William Moultry was half Cherokee? Indian … He and Rebecca homesteaded 175.5 acres in Saline County, Arkansas (Benton later became the countyseat) William Moultry’s parents were William Henry Haley (1850-19230) and Harriet Cobb (1818-1884) she was full blooded Cherokee? Indian
