Karen E. Halladay, 30, of New Castle,
passed away in her sleep on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her home. Karen was born on June 11, 1980 In Farmington Hills, Michigan. She is the daughter of Linda and Rev. Nelson Thayer, of New Castle and James and Carolyn Halladay of Erie, Pa.
Ms. Halladay was a 1998 graduate of McDowell Sr. High School and a 2002 Graduate of American University, Karen felt that music and dance have forever remained a passion in her life. She was filled with the spirit of the arts through her painting, photography and sketching. She loved her cats, live music, attending concerts and festivals and collecting ticket stubs and programs from events that she attended. Ms. Halladay is survived by her parents; grandparents; Carol and Larry Schroder and Mary and Bob Halladay; and three siblings, Rebekah Thayer of New Castle, Kenneth Thayer of Boston, Mass. and Andrew Halladay of Columbia, S.C.
Visitation will be held an Monday, July 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd. and on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 10-11 a.m. at the Eastbrook United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eastbrook United Methodist Church. The Rev. Barry Lewis will officiate. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 24, 2010 for anyone who would like to share in the remembrance of Karen's life. Please call (724) 882-6174 for further details.
