Have you checked other possible spellings? HILMER and HILLMER are very common German spellings which were spelled all different ways here in America. You might check http://foko.genealogy.net for anyone in Germany who is searching the name.

This is not true. My Great Grandfather Willaim Hallamore came from Nova Scotia to Southern California (where the Hallamore name has flurished) did not change the line. Only one member of the family (cant remember his name though - he lives in Temecula, CA) changed his name. Decendents from Willaim Hallamore - Lloyd Hallamore (Grandfather), Barry Hallamore (father), Kent, Troy, Mark and Nicole (siblings)

The Nova Scotia line (which became the US line) changed Hallamore to Hallimore.

Some other ways of spelling Hallamore are Allmore, Aylemor, Aylmer.
