Just some general Hally info. My Hally/Halley/Hawley
family left Ardfinnan Tipperary area in several groups between 1828-1851 they went via Waterford- Newfoundland- then US, which was the common route at the time. Primary names in my family were James, Edward, Thomas, Patrick. Most of the Hallys reused the same first names over and over and followed the Irish naming patterns for about one generation after leaving Ireland. The majority of Hallys came from Tipperary or Waterford along the River Suir area.
