Hi Lori-
I just saw your message that you posted a couple years ago. We have the same line of descent. Would love to share info about William and Louisa and their siblings. I photocopied information from a Hallock family Bible and it has William as being born in 1813 and as the oldest child of John D. & Sarah (Bertholf) Hallock. Please respond, we can help each other.

Ann

I am trying to find documentation that Ruth Hallock, b 1808, daughter of Charles Hallock and Ruth Bayles, married Lewis Hallett in Brookhaven, Suffolk Co., NY, in 1837. Does anyone have a resource to show this? Ruth is listed as Charles's daughter in the Hallock genealogy book, and the 1899 death record of Charles M. Hallett in Ingham Co., MI, gives his parents as Lewis Hallett and Ruth Hallock, but I cannot find a marriage record.
Well, that's an interesting tidbit. Thank you.

I am a great grandson of Morris Wells Hallock, his brother. Morris Wells had 11 children, not eight, as your source seems to imply. One of which was Inez Evangeline Hallock, who married my grandfather Arthur Baldwin.

You seem to have an interest in this line, cwhite02. If you do, I probably have some additional ancestral information that you don't have (and you might even have some I don't!), as I have been pursuing the ancestors of my grandparents for quite some years now.

Norris

Ottawa County Index, Kansas, Feb. 23, 1881, page 3:
Died -- Hallock -- At the house of his brother, M.W. Hallock, in Lincoln County, Feb. 14th, Lowell Mason Hallock, age 25. Mr. H. was a student of Theology in Andover Seminary, Mass., but failing health lad him to seek this western climate, in hopes of a cure. For a time such a result seemed not improbable but the severe and long protracted winter proved too much for his already enfeebled strength. He was buried in the new cemetery on Spring creek.

(His brother, Morris Hallock, raised eight children in Kansas.)

Is this what you meant in your message?

Anyway, my line of descent goes: Peter, William, William, Jonathan, John D, Louisa Hallock 1833-1873. Louisa married William Odiorne Peck. They moved between New York and Michigan a lot. So often I can't even keep track! The children often stayed with relatives, which were many.

Lori
We have a quilt that reads "Presented to Mrs. Robert C. Hallock by the Members of the Young Peoples' Society of the Yennent Church April 1889. It is a full size quilt and has been signed by the members of the Society. We also have a picture of Mrs. Hallock whose name is Martha Wells Hallock. These treasures were found in an attic in a home in Valatie, NY. Robert was a minister and he and Martha owned the house in Valatie. We have had no luck in tracing any descendants and would like very much to return these heirlooms to the appropriate family.

Would appreciate any help that you could offer. Thanks much

Hello Ellen, I am a descendant of that family that you speak of. I am named after my Great, great aunt Barbara Jeanne Hallock. She died in 1956, but was born in 1935. I still have her bracelet. My grandfather is Edmund A. Hallock and he had two brothers but I can only remember one of their names which is Mirwin Hallock. According to my dad, who is Gary Gerard Hallock, we use to own most of the island, but had lost it due to alcoholism. Hope this helps some, don't know if you would like to know more, but if you do, just contact me...I might be able to dig up more info.

I have an original 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” snapshot photograph of “Bert Beckus, Lloyd Hallock and Bert Pilgrim”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in about 1910-1915, surely in Riverside Co., CA (although that is not stated), and each of the men looks to be about 18-22 years of age.

I found Lloyd Hallock in the 1910 census for Hemet (Riverside Co.) CA, child of Alfred M. (age 70) and Nettie F. Hallock (age 40. Lloyd was age 14, born CA. World Family Tree shows Lloyd Hallock’s DOB as 8 Dec 1895, and his mother’s name is listed as Jeanette Logsden Hallock. Bert Beckus and Bert Pilgrim also lived in Riverside Co.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Lloyd Hallock.
