Halpern Family from Bialystok

Posted: 5 Nov 2002 8:15AM GMT
My grandfather, Nathan (Nachum Yitzchak) came to America in the early 1900s from Bialystok.

He was from a prominent family of Torah scholars. He was a very learned man and was associated with many of the great Torah scholars of the last generation such as Rav Moshe Feinstein and Rav Yechiel Mordechai Gordon, Rav Eliezer Shulevitz of the Lomza Yeshiva.

I recently discovered, through the internet that he had one brother who went to Liverpool in 1885.

I do not know of any other brothers or sister.

Anyone with the name Halpern from the Bialystok and Russian/Polish area please contact me.
