Surnames: Hamack, Hamak, Makovsky, Makousky,
There is more than one Frank Hamak (Hamack) in the US from Bohemia, right around the same time.

My question - is....were they related in some way - perhaps cousins.

My Frantisek Hamak (Frank Hamack) was born in 1869 in Borova #35 (I have the birth certificate).

He came to the US in 1887, and found his way to Minnesota (of course). He met and married Anna Makousky (Makovsky).

Frank had 3 children that lived to adulthood: Frank, Leslie and Claire. Claire had no children. Leslie's descendents stayed in Minnesota, and Frank's line moved to Washington State. Almost without exception, we are all still here. Frank Jr. has only one son left alive (Robert), and I am his daughter.

What I am looking for.

I have pretty good documentation about everything from arrival to America on (of course more is always good), but what I do not have is information about the family in Bohemia. Hamak is an unusual name, and I'm fairly certain that the Hamak's (Hamack's) in the US are related in one way or another.

I would love to know the stories of the other Hamak's, and where specifically in Bohemia (Czech) they were from, and what precipitated their emigration to the US.

ANY information is appreciated.
