I am trying to trace back the lineage of Sophie Hamel, my great grandmother, who was born about 1835 and married Francois Xavier Derouin (Drouin) abt 1855 and settled afterwards in St. Joseph d'Ely Parish, Valcourt PQ. Can anyone confirm she is the Sophie born to Joseph Hamel & Rose Vien in St. Mathias, Rouville County, PQ? That looks like the probable connection. Can you take the lines earlier than Joseph & Rose? I can share considerable info on family born of Sophie & Francois.
