I see we are related in some way. Harrison Clark is my great great grandfather. I see by your research he was married to Sarah Hamilton. Yes their children were Carrie and Charles. Carrie was my great grandmother. Her husband was William Winchell. They did divorce but not sure what year. Their children were Ernest Winchell, Ralph Winchell, Lottie Winchell, Laura Winchell. Jessie Winchell was born to Carrie and Frederick Paige.

Someone was looking for a Wood connection and I wanted to mention that Hance Hamilton's son Alexander S. Hamilton married a Wood, but I can't find out much about her.

Dallas Hamilton was married and had one son, Eugene. I went to school with Eugene and the yearbook lists his birthday as April 5th. Not sure of year but about1936. I don't know where he is now or his status but he was married at least once and divorced. There were no children of this marriage.

The family lived in Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennylvania when Dallas died and the school we went to was Yeadon High School.

I have been trying to find Eugene for a class reunion but have had no luck. I am not related.

I have that Hamilton family in my tree, David & Mary (Gavel)Hamilton also have a son named Thomas Kirby Hamilton, and he married a Mary Abie Haynes, who is my great grandaunt. I would LOVE to see your tree if I could.

Both Hamilton and Patterson (Paterson in Scotland) are Scottish names. Take a look to the Ulster Province. It is likely the families helped to settle the plantations and prior to that most likely found in southern Scotland.

He married Frances Reid in 1866 in Hamilton Ontario, Canada.
They had eight children:

William Henry had a brother Andrew Hamilton of Toronto.

1. ? b abt 1875 in Culpeper Co Va marr Elanie de Brodes. Need their parents & siblings as well as their children. Elanie was also marr first to Percy Murtagh Cox son of Newton James Cox & Martha Elizabeth Amiss. Also need children for Percy & Elanie.
2. Clarence b abt 1915 in Hanover Co Va marr Eldora Rebecca Jones. Need parents & siblings for Clarence. Eldora was the dau of Benjamin Felix Jones & Lizzie Belle Baldwin. Have a dau Doris for Clarence & Eldora. She was b abt 1941. She marr Luther B. Davis, also need his parents & siblings. Have 3 children for Luther & Doris.
3. E. A. ( need his name ) b abt 1850 in TN marr P. C. ( also need her name ) & their parents & siblings. Their son Kos b abt 1873 in TN marr Wilh Williams 18 Sep 1901 in Fredericksburg Va. Hamilton or Lewallen

My grandmother was born april 15, 1877. I think her parents last name was Hamilton. Her dad died before she was born and her mother died shortly after. She went to live with a family named Lewallen. Possilby and aunt and uncle. The Lewallens had a son named Frank and a daughter named Matilda. Area could have been Scott County, Tn. Jellioo, Tn or Whitley County, KY. Anyone have any info?

I too am looking for info on Hamilton's of Glasgow. William Hamilton was born about 1811 and was a soldier who married Margaret Elliot. I think I found him living in army barracks on the 1841 Scotland census but cannot find anything else. If I do, I will let you know if there may be a connection.

Trying to find maiden name

Married a lady by the name of Anna in 1894.
Anna was born in Illinos in March of 1872

Need help finding Husbands Grandfather.

I presume he was Willam M. Hamilton born abt 1897 in Pennsylvania.
His father was Ransom Hamilton born abt. 1848 in Penn.
His Mother was Anna (? maiden name) born abt. 1874 in Illinois

From what I can tell William had at least 4 siblings (Ruth, Edith, Robert and Howard.)

William was married to Edna nee Thomas abt 1919
To my knowledge William and Edna only had 2 daughters ( Grace and Alice)

I found a 1930 census where Edna was living with her children at her parents home but
no idea what happened to her husband William.

Any information regarding William M. Hamilton would be greatly appreciated.

My great grandfather was a J B Hamilton born in Georgia around 1850's to early 1860's. He was married to a Sarah Smallwood and had the following Children: Bertie Hamilton, George Hamilton, Maynard Hamilton, Les Hamilton. All of these children grew up in the Cherokee County, GA area or the Pickens, Forsyth County, area. I do not know what happened to J B Hamilton. The only info we had was he left and went to Dayton, Tennessee. Do any of these names sound familiar? I have been unable to trace back any further than my grandfather on the Hamilton side.

John Hamilton born 1813 Ireland married Elizabeth Patterson in Ireland may have been Armagh Co. Two sons at about 1842 immigration- Wm. b. 1835, and Henry b. 1841 born in Ireland. They immigrated btwn 1842-50 to Canada unknown port of arrival to Dunn twp Haldimand Co Ontario. His wife may have died in Ireland or in passage or Eliz may have died soon after settling in Canada. Looking for Irish connection.

In 1964 I visited an aunt in Meadville,Pa. My two aunts were saying that we were related to the Hamilton/Logue family. They did not write anything down, but I figured it out. My grandfather's mother was Rosa Bower. Her parents were Sarah (Hamilton) Sarah's father was Johnathan Hamilton son of James Hamilton and Mary Agnes Hamilton. Sarah married David Bower. I don't know where. They lived in Geauga and Trumball County Ohio where they had their 3 children, Rosa, Charles E. and Ada, then Rosa lived in Oil City when she was married to Richard Foley, born in England. It was there, they raised their children.
My aunts and uncles are all deceased. They said that Rosa Foley was a dark woman, with dark hair and dark eyes. She was very strict and when they visited her they could not say Grandma, they had to say Mrs. Foley. Richard Foley died, leaving her a widow with all her young children. He was a builder of homes in and around Oil City Venango County, Pa. He was run over by his horse and buggy. A car made a loud noise, his horses jumped, he got out and tried to console them, but the heavy cart filled with lumber ran over him.

My great- grandmother was Rosa Bower, daughter of Sarah Hamilton brn. 1838 and David Bower brn. 1833. They lived in Eastern Ohio then moved to Pennsylvania where my grandfather was raised.
Sarah Hamilton's father was Johnathan, son of James Hamilton and Mary Agnes Logue of Meadville, Pa. I went there in 1964 to visit an aunt and I heard my two aunts talk about the Hamilton Logue family and that we come from them.

This will was written 1842 [SCDAH]; by 1850, his widow, Mary UNKNOWN HAMILTON, was enumerated as head of household, with David, William and Sarah HAMILTON as minor children, and his sister, Mary HAMILTON PORTER, b. 1782, widow, living in the household.

Interested in corresponding further the researchers of these HAMILTON, GLADNEY, McCREIGHT, GREGG, HENDERSON, ROBINSON families of the Chester, and Fairfield county areas of South Carolina.

This Robert HAMILTON was enumerated in the 1839 will of his eldest brother, ARW Veteran David HAMILTON, 1758-1839, as siblings of William HAMILTON, 1775-1857, and brother to sisters, Hannah HAMILTON, Mary HAMILTON PORTER, Margaret HAMILTON WILSON, and Sarah 'Sally' HAMILTON McCREIGHT.

I David Hamilton of Fairfield District and State of South Carolina, being sick and weak of body, but of sound mind and memory and understanding (praised be God for it) and considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of life, do now think fit and proper to make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows.

That is to say first and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and Redeemer, and my body I commit to the Earth to be buried in decent form according to the discretion of my Executors herein after named, ad what Worldly property it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I dispose of in manner and form as follows-------

and first. I give to my Sister Margaret Wilson my Negro Woman named Edy----

2nd I give to Elizabeth Wilson. (daughter of Margaret Wilson) my Negro woman named Dianna---

3rd I give and bequeath to my brother William Hamilton, my negro man named Thomas, and my Negro Woman named Susey. and Also my Negro woman Named – Delila-

David HAMILTON, 1758-1839, never married nor did he have children. He served six tours military service in the American Revolutionary War, was last Quartermaster, and was Captain Lieutenant 4th Regiment Artillery South Carolina Continentals.

By 1839, the will of David HAMILTON, enumerates living family heirs, including brothers William HAMILTON, Robert HAMILTON: sisters, Margaret HAMILTON WILSON; Mary HAMILTON PORTER; Hannah HAMILTON; Sarah 'Sally' HAMILTON McCREIGHT [wife of John Q.]; neice, Elizabeth WILSON, daughter of Margaret HAMILTON WILSON; nephews, James, William and David WILSON, sons of Margaret HAMILTON WILSON; nephew William HAMILTON, son of his brother, William HAMILTON; nephew David HAMILTON, son of his brother, Robert HAMILTON.

By 1851, brother William HAMILTON, executor of David HAMILTON's estate, stated in the affadavit associated with the revolutionary war pension of his brother, David HAMILTON, that David had never married, and had no children, and that his immediate heirs were all deceased, save himself. William HAMILTON, 1775-1857, subsequently died about 6 years later.

They were of the Presbyterian faith, were immigrants from County Antrim, to the Charleston port of South Carolina, probably with the five shiploads of passengers associated with Rev. William Martin, fall 1772.

Interested in learning more about this HAMILTON family, of Fairfield and Chester Counties, South Carolina, and in learning where they are buried, if not in the Old Lebanon Cemetery, sometimes called the 'Old Stone' Church, near Winnsboro, Fairfield County, South Carolina.

In the name of God Amen,

I, Wm. Hamilton about eight two years of age, of sound mind and memory, do ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament.

1st. I give all, both my personal and read Estate to my beloved wife during her life and at her death to be disposed of as herinafter mentioned, except a negro man named Augusta, a woman Rena and a little boy Sam, which negrows I give to her absolutely for her to dispose of at her death.

2dly I give to my son William (beside what I have already given him) a Negro man named Thomas and a little girl named Allas, This gift to take place at the death of my wife,

3dly I give to my son Archabald James, a Negro man named Aprile and his wife Maria, and all my plantation of lands, with the farming tools implements marchienary and furnatures. &c All this 3d givt to take place at the death of my wife,

4thly I give my daughter Elisabeth Gladney a Negro man named Shedrich, a girl named Harriet, & a boy named John, all this 4th gift at the death of my wife

5thly I give my Daughter Sarah Ann, a Negro girl named Jane, a boy named James & a girl named Lauka, also one horse, bridle &c Saddle, & one Cow & calf all at the death of my wife

6thly I give my Daughter Margarate Yarboro & her children, a Negro woman named Margarett, and her child Edy or now called Mary, this 6th gift also to be at the death of my wife,

7thly, I give to my daughter Elisabeth a Negro girl named Dianna in trust for the use and benefit of my grand son, Archibald Gibson, the last son of my daughter Nancy Gibson,

and I also will to James and Nancy Jumima the other two children of my Daughter Nancy Gibson each one hundred dollars to be paid at the death of my wife

I appoint my son William Y Hamilton and Wm. D. Kersh, my legal Executors And now revoking all wills heretofore made by me I hereby publish and declare this to be my last will and testament.

His wife, thought to have been Nancy RUSSELL HAMILTON [not proven], was still living at the writing of his will, 1857.

Hope Evermore Hamilton

I would like to know anything about the name, "Hope Evermore Hamilton." I was told as a young boy that she was an aunt or great aunt to my father who had passed away before I was born. He had been raised in West Medford, MA outside of Boston. The story of Hope Evermore is that she was a Pierce that married into the Hamilton family. Do you or anyone who reads this know anything about her and her family?
