Des Moines Man's Romance

Last night at 8 o'clock Rev. W.C. (???)joined in marriage Capt. Elisha Hammer, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Sarah J. Willey. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride, in the presence of only a few selected friends.

There is quite a romance connected with this marriage. Away back, years ago, when both were young, they were ardent lovers, but fate separated them and they each married new found loves. Each have children grown, and again they met in Des Moines a year ago, when the old flame was rekindled.

Capt. Hammer has been a widower for some four or five years and Mrs. Willey a widow for seven years. Mrs. Willey is among our most prominent citizens, a staunch member of the M. E. church, and is admired and respected by all our people. They will make their future home in Des Moines.
