I am a direct descendent of Lewis Hubbard Hammett (Paternal Grandfather)1882-1948 and his wife, Lila May Hughey Hammett. Lewis was born in North Carolina, but lived in Greenville, S.C. all his life. His death certificate lists his father as Gilbert Hammett and his mother as Elizabeth Bishop. His second wife was Janie Harbin. This is where I am stuck.
