I'm looking for information on Michael Hammill and his wife Elizabeth Sedgewich (sp?) who came to northern NY by way of Montreal, Que, around early 1800s. They had several children among them John who married Sara McCalley, MacCauley. Michael may have settled and died in Potsdam, NY (St. Lawrence Co) while John settled in Hogansburg, NY and helped to found the Catholic church there in about 1835, St. Patricks (pixs attached). Many of these Hammills settled around Massena, Brasher Falls, etc.
