Hampson - New York City

I'm looking for any information on Harry F. Hampson (Sr.). I know he was born in 1929 and died in 1998. He married Irene Keough, they had children, and lived in New York City (Brooklyn?). I'm curious who his parents were and if he had any brothers or sisters? Please e-mail me if you have any information. Thanks! phoenix71975@yahoo.com

I have seen conflicting information on who the Richard and Sarah actually are.
Do you have any other leads from the database.

Hampsons from Dublin, Ireland

My GG Mother was Mary Hampson who was born in Dublin about 1845 and died in Moneyneena, Co Derry in 1894. I believe her father was Robert Hampson, a watchmaker from Dublin and that she had a younger brother Albert. I have drawn a blank trying to find out any further information about Mary or her family background. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I can't make a connection. My Robert Hampson married Mary (winnard)? His son Ralph(1785)married Margaret Tomlinson. Possible brothers were William(1792) and James(1796), sisters Mary(1787), Alice(1789) and Betty(1799). Ralph and Margaret had Ellen(1811), Sara(1813), Ann(1817), Kitty(1819) and son John (1826). Sara married a Harrop in Ashton Under Lyne and John came to America. If anyone has any other information on this line I would appreciate it. *John's grand daughters Ethel and Gertrude Hampson were believed to have moved to England or Scotland in or around 1935.

Some of my info has been from other trees, but you are very welcome to check it out.
My GGGG grandfather was a robert hampson 1762 who married Elizabeth Cowley 1775, their son was also robert 1795-1873, their grandson john 1827, and g grandson also john 1853-1927. Then followed daughter Elizabeth (nee Whally) from Parbold 1857-1901 who lived in Liverpool and married my grandfather william john chambers. I know there was quite a large hampson family, hope you can find the ones you want, and that this has been of some use to you,
Karen Rowlands

I am looking for Robert Hampson born Lancashire around 1760. His son Ralph was my great-great grandfather born Leigh, Lancashire in 1785. My great grandfather (Ralph's son) John Hampson was born 1826 Ashton Under Lyne. He married Hannah Bardsley and came to the United States in 1852. He died in St. Louis, Missouri 1909. I know John had sisters but I can not find any Hampson descendants or any relatives that may have came to the United States with him. Would anyone have information on this family?

In a list to be reconciled I have a 'Lightfoot Lamonby' whose mother is Ann Lightfoot married to Joseph Lamonby. Do you have any information which may connect, I cannot find any other Joseph Lamonby in the IGI which seems to be an obvious match.

Thank you. Regards Anne Bowes

Hi my connection to the Hampon family is through Mary Jane Hampson. She was born circa in 1817 in Manchester and married Thomas Walter Pike in 1838. Her father was Thomas Hampson a Manufacturer. Slaters gives him as coming from Radcliffe. Does anyone else have a connection the the Prestwich / Radcliffe Hampson or have any information concerning them.

Hello,
I don't have much info on the Hampson family but what I do know is that Jane Bannister married Thomas Hampson in abt. 1864 in England. They had one daughter Martha b. abt. 1870 just before they left England for the USA. The family first lived in Massachutes where I found other Hampson families had relocated, as well, this is where their son Robert Henry was born. Sometime after that they moved to Anniston, Alabama perhaps when Thomas died.(don't have any more info on him or his family) Their daughter Martha married Wm. Goldsworthy & they had 3 children. Jane died in 1917.
Hope you have good luck researching the Hampson line.
Carol
