I'm the g-grandson of Ole Ivar Hamre, b. 25 Mar 1865 in Bergen, Hordaland, Norway. Ole and his family immigrated from the Leikanger, Sogn og Fjorde area to Minnesota around 1875. He ended up in NW Minnesota in Norman county. His brother, Jens, was also there in the Twin Valley area. Ole's father, according to the Bygdebok, was Ivar Kjelson Fosse, so apparently they took the Hamre name from the farm they worked in Leikanger. Ole married Ingeborg Huseby, b. 16 Feb 1872 in Minnesota, d. 4 Sep 1911 in Norman county, MN. The Huseby family also appears to have immigrated from the Leikanger area. Ole passed away on 1 Aug 1942 in Gary, Minnesota.
