Hello - I am also the granddaughter of one of John Leon's daughters (by Bessie McEntire): Florrie, who has often spoken fondly of her sister Julia. I have very little on the Hamrick family, but many years ago found a Hamrick genealogy website (that has since disappeared). It was posted by a member of the Green family. Could this have been you? If so, I would greatly appreciate any info you would be willing to share.

Alicia, The DAR Website will list the state where you reside and the chapters in that state. Feel free to contact the chapter closest to you by email and they will advise you as to the procedure you need to follow to become a member of the DAR. I did a check on Benjamin and he served as a Soldier and had civil service NC. Born July 9, 1739 Prince William County, VA, died 1839 Upson County, GA. His grave is marked. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me by my personal email.

Hello,
I just noticed a typo in my previous post. I am looking for information on the family of line of Patrick Hamrick 1684-1764. I am confused on the multiple Benjamin and Patricks born between 1713 and 1739. I am fairly sure I am related to Benjamin Hamrick (1739-1839)married to Fannie Burchett (1740-1827. My line of Hamricks came from Virginia and North Caroline to Upson County, Georgia in a land grant. I have conflicting info stating his widow sought a pension for his Continental Army service. Any information you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Mrs. Alicia Ammons Howell

Hello,
My name is Alicia Ammons Howell and I am researching the Hamrick line. I believe through research on ancestry.com that I am a descendant of Benjamin Hamrick 1739-1839 of Virginia. My maternal grandfather comes from Benjamin's son James who came to Upson County Georgia in a land grant sometime around 1812. I am very interested in applying for DAR and am looking for information and/or advise you may be willing to share. I would be so very grateful for any assistance you may offer.
Thank you,
Mrs. Alicia Ammons Howell

Great Grandson of David Wright, the son of Sara Hamrick of Germantown.

Great Grandson of David Wright, the son of Sara Hamrick of Germantown. Hello, everybody I am just trying to see how many of my distant relatives I may hear from in this short life. My grandfather and grandmother were actually both descended from the Hamricks that came to NC, but like most of our early family were intermixed with other relatives. I reside in NC and my my genealogy follows as shown: My mother is Betty Wright-daughter of Ira Wright. Ira Wright is the son of David Wright and Panthia Hamrick, once again the intermarrying of some sorts, David Wright is the direct son of Jane Hamrick and Phillip Wright. -And of course Jane Hamrick is the daughter of Germantown founder George Hamrick himself! I am proud of our heritage and would love to meet some gorgeous lady somewhere in our family, of course some light humor. Hope to hear from some of you if you would like to write, atp.llc.2007@gamil.com.
Ricky Tscheiller

I suspect his headstone was replaced at some time with a newer one. I have a photo of this if anyone is interested. He is buried in the Hamrick Cemetery located at the end of Union Street Webster Springs, WV. Also is the grave of his infant son who died the day he was born.

Yes, Robert was born in Jasper Co GA (Covington seat). From estate papers, Robert Signor Hamrick was the son of James. In 1820 there is a James Hamrick in Jasper Co and their is a male the age of Robert (b 1800) and there is no female old enough to be Robert's mother. In 1817 there is a deed (Jasper Co GA) in which James Hamrick's "wife, Martha, renouncing any right to the same land". She must have died before 1820. James must remarry by the time/or just after he moves to Coweta Co GA. When he dies before May 1834, he has a wife, Margaret.
Would love to exchange information with you. I am a descendant of Cumi's older brother Warren DeKalb Hamrick.

I'm also a descendant of Robert Signor Hamrick, thru his son Warren DeKalb. Robert is mentioned as an heir of James Hamrick (d Coweta Co 1834), along with other siblings: Seaborn, Harrison, Thomas Jefferson, James M, and sisters who are mentioned through their husbands: Susan wife of Joseph Smith, Elizabeth wife of Joseph Cates, Maria wife of Joel McClendon, Nancy wife of Dickson Crane, Martha wife of John L O'Neal. Happy to exchange information. I have only had contact with one Hamrick-Kerr descendant. Please contact.

So I am Cumi's 3-great niece. And how are you related to Cumi? Do you need information on Warren's descendants? I would like to have information with supporting sources on Cumi's descendants if you would be willing. Am working on all Robert s Hamrick's descendants - would like photos also.

Robert Signor Hamrick was born in Jasper Co GA where he and Elizabeth Smith married. Records are in jasper Co's Covington and at the Archives in Morrow (south of Atlanta) GA.
Most of the family moved from Jasper Co to Coweta, Meriwether and Carroll Counties. James, the father of Robert Signor Hamrick, died intestate while in Coweta Co in 1835.
Court records list beneficiaries "by right of heir", and Robert S is one of those listed. His wife Margaret and his youngest son James M are executors. While in Jasper Co, there was a James whose wife Martha gave up dowery rights to some land that they were selling. Whether James' wife's name was Margaret Martha or Martha Margaret or IF Margaret were a 2nd wife...this I don't know. That land transaction was in early 1820...in the 1820 census, family listed with James Hambrick did not include a woman old enough to be the mother of his oldest son Seaborn Hamrick. (Note the name is found as Hambrick and Hamrick. I'm still searching and will try to stay in touch.

Hi,
I saw an old post and thought I would add some of what I know.

Nimrod M. Hamrick was buried in Ione, California in the earliest cemetery. He has a tall marble stone. Also in the plot is Mariah Hamrick, Nimrod's spouse and Julia Farley.
They came west in 1863, with another son John.

Nimrod's son Jesse Calvert Hamrick was first person buried in this cemetery, oral tradition. Jesse is my great great grandfather. His wife Elizabeth is also buried here.

That 5 completes the Hamrick family plot. I have also wondered who Julia is.

Jill O'Neall Ching
irishjilly2002@yahoo.com
is the preferable addy.

Bearskin Bill Hamrick: apparent error

I have been doing family research for one of my daughters and found a conflict (more than one but am still working through this) regarding the children of William Grant "Bearskin Bill/Billy G" Hamrick. The info here shows that he was married 3 times but all six children came from one marriage.

According to my mother (a granddaughter of Billy G) only 2 of the children (Lennie and Hughling) were from the marriage to Catherine Hamrick while the others were from the marriage of Elizabeth Baldwin Workman.

In case anyone is searching that path.
