Through a contact, Heinrich Hamrak now living in Slovakia, I was told that the name Hamrock(Hamrak) is a germanic name. The root Hamre means to smelt. Germans settled in the Spis region of Slovakia in the 1100s to mine the region. They assimalated and now most identify themselves as Slovak. Your research back to Bavaria verifies thet. This might be a connection to the origin of all Hamrocks. Hamrak is the Slovakian spelling of Hamrock. Thank you for the information. Keep Posting
