I am descended from a line of Hamrocks ,living in
Ireland since 1690.Supposedly merceneries
,specifically Bavarian in the service of King James !! .I
have used a search machine (Snap or Alta Vista )
,which gave me hundreds of results for the name,
mostly in the U.S.,some in Ireland.The LDS family
history site also have online records on the name.I think
the Ohio -Penn.branch is a seperate branch,though of
similar origin.Hope this is of encourgement Keep
