Joseph Hamson and Elizabeth Wilson were my great great great grandparents. My great great grandfather was Joseph Hamson (m. Elizabeth Jennings) and my great grand father was Samuel David Hamson.
I really don't know anything about the Hamsons because my grandfather, William Truxton Hamson died in 1912 when my mother was only 3. He and my mother were both born in Penn. I know my grandfather had a sister, Mary Emma (Anderson) living in California from the 1920's to the 1950's.
I would love to learn more about my line of Hamsons.

There are some variations to the information I have found for some of the Hamson's listed in your post.

I have found various dates for Joseph Silvester Hamson's birth. His World War I registration card lists his birthday as 11 Jan 1883. On the 1900 census it lists his birthdate as Jan 1884.

Maude Hamson was born in 1889 according to her obituary and the 1900 census.

Joseph Smith Hamson was born in 1849 according to his obituary and the Utah Burial Index

Fedebion is Tededion according to the Utah Burial Records.

Jedidiah Mills Hamson was born 1858 according to the Utah Burial Index.

Boletta's last name is Mortensen according to her obituary and the Utah Burial Index. Her obituary also said she had 10 children.

I run across a lot of variations for family history. I am curious if the information you posted was passed down through your family or through other records.

I'm most curious about Tededion. His death record states that he died in 1875, but I can't find him listed on any census records with his family. If he lived til 1875 he should be on the 1860 and 1870 census, but he isn't. If anyone has more information about him, please contact me.

I have some information on Peter Williams. His second wife was Rosie Charlotte Didrikson b 8 Feb 1911 in Seattle, King WA to Peter Andrew Didrikson and Wilhelmine Erickson. They were married in Seattle on 8 Nov 1944.I have scanned pictures of both Peter and Rosie that I would be glad to share if you or any one else is interested.
I have some information on Peter's parents that I picked up from postings of Carole Balzano on the Guglielmo and Balzano boards. Carole is the Granddaughter of Peter's sister, Maddelena Guglielmo. Maddelena (Madge) married Alfonso Balzano.
She gives Peter's mother as Antonia SARAS. You can get this information from those boards. I have never been able to contact Carole.
While looking at some pictures just a couple of days ago, I got the correct spelling of the last name of Peter's cousins Jim and Pat SERASio. I was never able to connect them with the family although I knew they were cousins. Now it seems obvious that they were kids of Peter's maternal uncles and the name is Sarasio, not Saras. They were also first cousins to each other and never had any kids for that reason. I have some pictures of them and Maddelena also. You are welcome to them also. None of this iinformation is proven.

I've been going through some newspaper articles today and found this one that mentions the marriage of Thelma to Peter Williams.

January 20, 1910 – Box Elder Paper

Last week, Mayor Blackburn performed the ceremony uniting Thelma Hamson of Harper and P. Arthur Williams of Switzerland in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hamson of Harper, and a charming young lady. Mr. Williams has not been in this locality very long and we haven’t the pleasure of his acquaintance. We hasten to offer congratulations, however, and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.

Boletta Mortensen Hamson Death

September 2, 1909 – Box Elder Paper

After a lingering illness of some months, Mrs. Boletta M. Hamson was released from her suffering last Monday night at 10:30 o’clock. The cause of death was general debility and dropsy, which finally reached the aged lady’s heart causing death.

Mrs. Hamson is undoubtedly the pioneer Scandinavian lady of Brigham City, having resided here for many years. No complete record of her life has been kept, so the date of her arrival in this city could not be learned, but those who know her say she was one of the oldest inhabitants.

Deceased was born in Denmark on September 15th, 1833. She accepted the gospel in her native land, emigrating soon after, and made this city her home upon arrival in Utah.

Sometime in the fifties she became the plural wife of George F. Hamson, who was one of the first five men to locate in Brigham City. From that union ten children were born, five of whom survive their mother.

Mrs. Hamson passed through the trying scenes incident to pioneer life and endured many hardships, thru all of which she has remained true to her convictions and friends. She was a noble woman, not one to appear in public and take a leading part, but she faithfully played her role in life’s theatre and the world is better for her having lived in it.

She has left a record that her children should be proud to perpetuate, and has now been called home to her reward. May she rest in peace to await the call of the faithful when the trump shall sound on the morning of the first resurrection.

Funeral services were held in the First ward meeting house yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Bishop Watkins presiding. The speakers were as follows: Wm. Horsley, Jonah Mathias, Bishop Watkins, N. L. Hansen and President Oleen N. Stohl.

Beautiful and appropriate music was furnished by the ward choir.

Thank You, Thank You, Barbara. I have seen your Family tree on Ancestry.com but never did get a Hit on Thelma Hamson. Now, if I can only get something on her marriage to Peter Williams. You have been an enormous help.

I was researching my famil name of Hampson and found no luck on the 1891 census for Liverpool, England when someone found them at the same address but the name was Hamson! Just thought I would share that info it may help others. The names I have are all from Liverpool and read as follows: William H. Hamson, Elizabeth, Fanny, Mary E., Frank, and John all on the 1891 census for Kirkdale.

Hamson Family

I have heard of some history back to Greece but
I haven't been able to trace it back yet. My
Father is Edward Ballard Hamson his father is
Leroy married to Louisa Dennis Hamson.
His father was George K.Hamson Jr.married to
Eleanor Tobey Hamson. I believe his father
was George K Hamson. I haven't been able to back further than that
on that side. My Grandfather's brother was
Elmer married to Gretchen I am in the process
of placing it on the Marblehead Hamson's Web site
here.I found a cousin by accident Donald
Hamson who is I think a son of Elmer. His
email hapened to be dhamson1@mediaone.net
Someone writing to him had accidentaly left
out the 1 and I got his e-mail and found
some cousins that had moved to N.H.
We have traced back to the Revolution to
a direct cousin that fought so my aunt could
have my cousins apply for a DAR scholarship.
Any further information would be helpful.
Any questions e-mail me at dhamson@mediaone.net
this side of the family has been in Marblehead,
Mass since at least the revolution.

The "Hamson's in Utah" kinda explains a little of it. As for your Grandma being a strange one.... then she's gotta be a Hamson.(Just kidding Adam...Oh who am I fooling?!) We haven't seen Cast Away yet, but ironic enough that's all he's wanted to see since it came out.(I wish I would've listened to him instead of going to Hannibal..Yuck!) Anyways, I will try to contact Susie (Hamson) and either make her aware of this site, or get the info sent to us. Talk to you soon.

Hamson's from Utah

This is Adam's best friend, Angelique, we share the same computer, but he goes out on jobs alot. I'm the one who actually started the Hamson board for him. His father is Donald Hamson, mother Elaine Stauffer(was m-to Hamson for several years). Adam has 4 other siblings; Julie, Christy, Susie, Joseph, & Adam (baby). I know that Susie has traced a huge part of the geneology back several centuries which I hope is good news to you. I believe that the name Hamson was Hanson, but the grt-grndpa was running from the law and changed it(not much though). I know his line traces back to a ruler from the monarchy of Greece. They have a picture of him from approx. late 1700's, and for some reason, his reigned for only 7 years. I will ask his family which which line he was from. Does any of this sound familiar to your family history? P.S(I know alot about Adam, because we were engaged for 5 years incase you wondered why his FRIEND :) knew so much.) Looking forward to beginning to unravel the rest of the Hamson mystery. ~ Angelique

David, I'm soooo sorry that you are just
sitting there talking to yourself. Have you
seen Cast Away? If you have you will know
what I mean when I tell you that you need to
get a volleyball.

Now on with business. Any chance you have
any Hanson's that got mixed up with your
Hamson's? These would be from Southern
Illinois. Mainly I'm trying to find my
grandmother's,parents. Something is not
right with this woman. She never would tell
even her children who her parents were.
No B.C., S.S.app. didn't tell me anything.
Hope you at least aren't talking to yourself
anymore :) Shannon anyhart@netscape.net

I'm looking for any Hamsons doing geneology work. But obviously we are lazy or something cause I'm officially talking to myself. Anyways, I'm Adam David Hamson, son of Donald Jean Hamson. I'm the youngest of 5. My siblings are; Christy (Crandell), Julie (Barson), Susan, Joseph Lynn Hamson, me. My sister Susie has done our geneology but I'm in the process of getting a copy. Our line traces back to Greece (in one bloodline). We have a picture of the ruler of greece a few generations back who is our direct forefather. My family is prodominantly LDS. If any of this info. seems to ring a bell please feel free to contact me at my e-mail. I'm away from home quite often , so please be patient with my responses. If NONE of this info. seems familiar, remember that just the fact that your name is HAMSON might be a big enough step forward in helping each other, seeing how there is only a handful of us around. Thank you. ~ Adam

I'm not sure if you are still looking for information on Thelma Hamson since your query was 3 years ago, but I am Thelma's great-granddaughter. Her son Floyd (with Peter Williams) is my grandfather. I do have some information, though most of it is in the form of family stories, etc. I am still looking for information from their early life, before Montana. I have quite a bit on Peter Williams, but nothing much on their early life together before Montana. Contact me if you want to know what I have.
Greeting to all Hamsons. Now, put on your thinking caps. Have you ever run across that name? It is my wifes Grandmother born, THELMA HAMSON 28 Jan 1894. Her Ex-husband was taking a couple of the kids from Montana to California back in the 1920's. As they were passing Brigham City, UT he mentioned "This is where your mother was born".
That's all the clues I have. She evidently never talked to the kids about her early life. Any help would have my gratitude, forever.

I found this article about the marriage of George Frederick Hamson and Laura Elizabeth Hadley. They were married 4 Dec 1907 in Brigham City, UT.

Mr. George Hamson, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hamson of the first ward, this city, and Miss Laura Hadley of the same ward, were united in marriage last night at the home of the bride's parents, at 6 p.m., Bishop McMaster officiating. A supper was tendered the young people at the home of her mother, Mrs. Will Hadley, the immediate relatives being the guests. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Hamson a joyous voyage over life's stormy sea.
