I am in So Bend, have been all my life. Hanak side of family from Zenta, Hungary which is now in Yugoslavia. Boros side (grandfather) came from Peterreve, also in Hungary. The borders in that part of the world are pretty fluid.
My great-grandmother Victoria Hanak was listed in her obit as having been born in Czechoslovakia, but that could have been an error. I have found many errors in obits, mainly because of the language problems I suppose. I haven't been able to find her maiden name yet. Maybe when I get into the church records from Zenta, I'll find something. Have you gone through any microfilm?
Off topic/ We lived in an old neighborhood with a few Notre Dame people in it. Did you know: Charles and Moira Geoffrion, Mike and Neal Stark, or Denis and Ana Maria Goulet? They were neighbors.
