Jeannie Marie Hancock, 35, Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at Clarksville, TN.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Eaves officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jeannie was born Feb. 25, 1972, in Tampa, Florida. She was an honored member of her community and a surrogate family to many. She was widowed in October 2003 when her husband of 8 years, Michael S. Hancock, was killed while serving in Iraq.
She is survived by her father, James Michael Sheilds Sr.; stepfather, James T. Bratcher; her four children, Amber Michelle Ash-Cook (13), James Scott Cook (12), Ashley Nicole Hancock (10), and Christopher Sean Hancock (6); brother, James M. Shields Jr.; and sisters, Joyce Marie Cook, Loni Pennington and Diedre Holmes.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Dodson, Chad Coleman, Nathan Haddock, Steve Pennington, Nathan Thadfor and Patrick Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ellis, Raymond Kachermeyer, Daniel Pike, David Mason, Larry Pennington, and Jacky Meggitt.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jeannie Hancock Fund at any Bank of America.
