Sorry but the info you give would lead me to believe there is no immediate connection. My greatgrandparents were born in Uniontown, PA and the were John and Catherine. My grandfather's family spelled it Handerahan on the census records but my grandfather dropped the e b/c he thought it unnecessary. In my research I have found many Hanrahan's listed as residents at various times in Limerick city and I would bet that is the original spelling. I am still trying to find out who came to this country and when. This may or may not help but I found a Thomas Handrahan and Margaret with children Joseph and Catherine listed on the 1920 Pittsburgh Census. Their ages were 57 and 58 at the time and came over in 1890 and 91. I don't think they are connected to me but still looking into that.
