HANNAY - Sadly we announce the death of Inga Mary Hannay nee Slywka who passed away peacefully with family at her side on October 20, 2005. Inga was 89 years of age; born in the Vonda area on June 1, 1916, eldest of 5 children born to Mike and Doris Slywka. She started her schooling in Tessier and finished high school at McGee. It was at McGee she met and married her soul mate Jack Hannay of 49 years of marriage. They lived at McGee for 33 years and then purchased a home in Rosetown in 1972. After Jack's passing in 1982, Inga moved into McNab Place in 1995 and then the Nursing Wing in February 2005. She is survived by one son, Bob (Jean) Hannay of Rosetown; and two daughters, Marg (Ray) Lavigne of Rosetown and Mary Anne (Garry) Kennon of Delisle; 13 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren; brother, Tom (Alice) Slywka; sister, Ann Gingrich of Waterdown, Ontario; and sisters-in-law, Charlotte Vetzal of Saskatoon, Joanne Slywka of Trail, BC and Mickey McLellan of Saskatoon; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Doris Slywka; brothers, Earl and Bill Slywka; husband, Jack in 1982; and daughter, Jackie McKercher in 1996; brothers-in-law, Harold Gingrich, Alex Vetzal, Bert Brown, Hugh Hannay and Albert Hannay; and sister-in-law, Jean Brown. Inga was active in all sports; she and Jack enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and entertaining friends. She was an active member of the McGee Ladies Club, Orange Lodge and the United Church. She was an excellent cook and homemaker and her home was always a centre of activity with lots of neighbors and friends and especially children and grand children calling. She will be sorely missed but always remembered. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 24, at the Rosetown United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Donations in memory of Inga may be made to the Rosetown Nursing Wing Activity Fund. Clements Rosetown Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
