The name John Hanrahan coupled with the surname Sallinger suggests to me that he may be a member of the Hanrahan family which in about 1823 were to be found in the townland of Powerswood in the RC parish of Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny on which I can provide information. If relevant, I will post more infornation on this family when I have consulted my files.
