Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Moses Lake Convention Center with Reverend Hoshu Matsubayashi presiding. Interment will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 3, from 8 a.m. until noon and on Monday from 8 until 11 a.m. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Don was born April 1, 1922 in Tremonton, Utah, son of Jisaku and Izu (Shinkawa) Hara. Don graduated from Tremonton High School and spent several years in the military. He was married to Fumi Nitta in Winnemucca, Nev. on November 29, 1951. Don farmed around the country before settling in the Columbia Basin in the early 1950s. The Hara family lived in Moses Lake and subsequently the basement house on the farm until 1970 when Don finished building their current family home. He had also built many of the cabinets and furnishings in the home. Don raised a family of seven children, farmed in Moses Lake most of his adult life and found time to take an occasional fishing trip to the coast. He had always enjoyed watching his children's judo and wrestling tournaments. In his later years, Don "supervised" his sons on the farm and entertained his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife; Fumi Hara, Moses Lake; his sons and daughters; Karen and John Weidert, Kennewick, Don Hara, Jr., Moses Lake, Geri and Larry Gilbert, Bellingham, Doug and Tami Hara, Moses Lake, George and Lori Hara, Moses Lake, Susan and Russ Beard, Othello; daughter-in-law, Michele Hara, Moses Lake; grandchildren, Jessika Hara, Craig Weidert, Bryan Hara, A.J.
