Our family has the following Harders as children
of Hudson Race Harder b Nov 7 1847 in Wilberton IA,
who was a child of Hiram Daugherty, born in Washington,
Virginia, 1814 and Elizabeth Hardesty b Dec 11 1822.
The Daugherty(Dougherty) name was reputedly changed to
Harder to escape persecution. Martha Jane Bishop was
said to be a Cherokee Indian adopted by the
Harder/Daugherty family, Mormon missionaries
on an Oklahoma Indian reservation.
