I have traced my great grandparents John and Catherine (Guifoyle) Hardiman to West Bromwich, Staffordshire. They married there had two children Barbara and John. John's brother Charles Hardiman married Catherine;s sister Barbara and they traveled to Brazil to start a colony of Irish Catholics around 1870. That failed and the next I know of them (Charles and Barbara) they are in Pittsburgh, PA with the rest of the family...John and Catherine and children and Cahterine and Barbara's parents James and Catherine Guilfoyle. My grandmother Eugenie was born in Pgh in 1875. I am lucky to know this much..taken a while. But what I really would love to know is where they came from in Ireland. They must have come to England around the Famine Time.They left for the US around 1872. Does any of this connect with any other Hardimans?
